Full Job Description
Role Overview

Envision Horizons is seeking a Director of Marketing to build and execute the content, campaigns, and programs that fuel our sales pipeline. This is a hands-on, performance-based role: your primary mandate is generating qualified leads for the sales team to close, through sharp copywriting, disciplined content programs, and well-run external vendor partnerships.

You will set the marketing strategy and own the output quality - while a Marketing Associate reporting to you executes production, and our paid media agency and PR firm execute against your direction. You are the strategic center of gravity for how Envision Horizons attracts, engages, and converts prospective clients.

You will also own a $500K annual marketing budget spanning events and paid acquisition, along with the reporting and analysis that determines where that budget delivers the best return.

How You'll Make An Impact

1. Lead Generation & Pipeline Support
  • Own the marketing content and program calendar with a single measure of success: qualified leads delivered to Sales.
  • Build and manage lead magnets, gated content, email nurture sequences, and landing pages that convert.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to understand what messaging and proof points move deals forward, and translate that into content.
  • Track and report on lead volume, source, and quality - tightening the content-to-pipeline connection over time.

2. Copywriting & Content Strategy
  • Personally write or closely edit high-stakes copy - website, campaigns, sales collateral, thought leadership - ensuring it is sharp, attention-catching, and on-brand.
  • Set the editorial and messaging standard the Marketing Associate and vendors execute against.
  • Develop content tracks that support company priorities: new service launches, attracting specific target-client profiles, and conference visibility.

3. Vendor & Agency Management
  • Manage the external paid media agency - setting strategy and goals, reviewing performance, and holding them accountable to pipeline impact.
  • Manage the external PR firm - directing narrative priorities, executive visibility opportunities, and media targets.
  • Oversee any additional external vendors supporting design, video, or production, ensuring deliverables match strategy and deadlines.

4. Team Leadership
  • Manage and develop a Marketing Associate who supports execution - producing assets, coordinating logistics, and maintaining content operations.
  • Set clear priorities and quality standards so the Associate can execute independently against your strategy.

5. Service Launches & Prospect Targeting
  • Build go-to-market content and campaigns for new service launches, in partnership with division leaders.
  • Develop messaging and targeted campaigns to attract specific types of client prospects aligned to company growth goals.
  • Ensure consistent positioning across web, sales materials, paid media, and PR.

6. Conference Strategy
  • Partner closely with the VP of Sales to own the conference and event strategy - jointly recommending which events to sponsor, speak at, or attend based on prospect fit and ROI.
  • Develop content and follow-up campaigns that turn conference presence into pipeline (pre-event outreach, on-site collateral, post-event nurture).
  • Align event budget and staffing decisions with Sales leadership so events serve shared pipeline goals.

7. Budget, Reporting & ROI Optimization
  • Own and manage the $500K annual marketing budget covering events and paid acquisition.
  • Build and maintain reporting that tracks CAC and ROI across every channel and event, making performance visible and comparable.
  • Continuously reallocate spend toward the channels and events delivering the strongest return, cutting or scaling programs based on evidence.
  • Bring a test-and-learn mindset to new channels or event types, with clear before/after ROI comparisons.

What Success Looks Like (6-12 MONTHS)
  • A consistent, measurable flow of qualified leads is reaching Sales from marketing-driven content and campaigns.
  • Copywriting and messaging across web, sales materials, and campaigns is sharp, distinct, and clearly outperforming generic agency content.
  • The paid media agency and PR firm are operating against clear strategy and being held to measurable outcomes.
  • The Marketing Associate is executing production reliably, freeing the Director to focus on strategy and quality.
  • New service launches and conference appearances translate into visible pipeline activity, not just brand awareness.
  • CAC and ROI are tracked and reported clearly across events and paid acquisition, with the $500K budget consistently reallocated toward the highest-return channels.

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of B2B marketing experience, ideally within an agency or professional services environment.
  • A strong, provable copywriting instinct - you can write copy that stops the scroll and drives action, not just describes a service.
  • Experience managing external agencies or vendors (paid media, PR, creative) and holding them to performance standards.
  • Comfortable owning both strategy and hands-on execution - this is a builder's role, not a delegator-only role.
  • Experience supporting a sales team directly, with a clear understanding of what turns content into pipeline.
  • Experience owning a marketing budget and reporting on CAC/ROI, with a track record of reallocating spend toward what actually works.
  • Organized and metrics-minded, but never loses sight of the story and the "why" behind the numbers.
