Job DescriptionWhat We're Looking ForBaylor University is seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications for the School of Engineering and Computer Science. This position directs the marketing and communications strategies of the School of Engineering and Computer Science and ensures all messaging aligns with the School's mission, values, and strategic priorities, strengthens brand reputation, supports enrollment and revenue goals, and engages key audiences across multiple platforms.
A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, advertising, or a closely related field and three years of relevant work experience (marketing, advertising, enrollment marketing, communications, or a related field) are required. A master's degree and five years of relevant experience are preferred. A combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of the required degree and/or years of experience.
Additional qualifications include:
- Experience developing enrollment, recruitment, audience, or lifecycle marketing strategies
- Experience managing paid media strategies, advertising budgets, and vendor relationships
- Ability to use data, analytics, market research, and performance measures to inform marketing strategy and resource allocation
- Marketing experience within higher education or another large, complex organization
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis. What You Will Do- Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies that align with and support the vision, mission, values, and goals of the School of Engineering and Computer Science
- Provide strategic direction for departments and programs and coordinate marketing and communications plans and initiatives to support individual department- and program-level goals
- Collaborate with the Undergraduate and Graduate Enrollment Management teams on the development and execution of strategic marketing campaigns focused on student recruitment for programs
- Manage relationships with external marketing vendors including strategic collaboration on digital advertising, accountability and reporting, SOW review, and internal liaising
- Serve as primary website manager for all ECS departments and programs, including developing and maintaining webpages, consulting on web strategy and design, and liaising with Baylor Digital Marketing
- Manage mass email strategy, including the creation and distribution of internal and external large-scale email communications along with the oversight of department-level mass email communications
- Serve as writer and editor of ECS content and copy, including news releases, website articles, newsletter and magazine stories, and other communications
- Supervise student workers and interns, providing guidance and support for their various projects
- Coordinate with Dean's Office administrative team to manage and support college-wide events, particularly through communications and programming
- Assist the dean with executive communications, including drafting, review, and distribution of emails, presentations, etc.
- Support fundraising efforts through the development of communications materials, event support, and stewardship
- Collaborate with the assistant dean of operations on faculty and staff appreciation and retention efforts, including the awards program, engagement activities, and more
- Serve as liaison to Baylor University's Division of Marketing & Communications and the Brand Council
- Serve as a member of the ECS Dean's Council
- Performing all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintaining regular and punctual attendance
