Job Summary:

The Director of Local Sales, Airports leads a team of Account Executives and Sales Managers responsible for driving advertising revenue across a national portfolio of airport markets. This role is accountable for revenue growth, market development, seller performance, and business development strategy. The Director partners cross-functionally with Revenue Management, Business Operations, and Sales Leadership to improve pricing, inventory utilization, forecasting, pipeline visibility, and overall portfolio performance. This position also plays a key role in advancing sales enablement, AI adoption, automation, and data-driven decision-making to accelerate growth and improve seller productivity.

                                                                                                    

Job Responsibilities

  • Drives revenue growth and market performance by developing and executing strategies that increase advertiser investment, maximize revenue opportunities, and expand business across priority and emerging airport markets.
  • Leads revenue optimization initiatives in partnership with Revenue Management and Business Operations to improve pricing strategy, inventory utilization, occupancy, yield performance, and overall portfolio results.
  • Develops scalable prospecting and business development programs using sales intelligence, AI, and market research tools to identify new revenue opportunities, sponsorships, target verticals, and repeatable growth strategies.
  • Champions sales enablement, AI adoption, and process improvement by implementing technology, automation, and best practices that increase seller productivity, pipeline generation, and operational efficiency.
  • Provides executive-level revenue visibility and analytics through forecasting, performance reporting, pipeline management, dashboards, and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and accountability
  • Lead Account Executives to exceed local and national sales quotas, maximizing airport advertising revenue.
  • Travels with Account Executives for training, coaching, and high-level client meetings.
  • Hires, selects, manages, coaches, and develops their sales team, holds them accountable against metrics and customer expectations, provides recognition and performance feedback by maximizing individual's talents.

Job Qualifications 

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.

Work Experience

  • Five (5) + years business to business (BTB) sales experience required.
  • Three (3) + years’ experience leading a sales team required.
  • Media sales experience and understanding of broadcast and internet/digital applications preferred.

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Extensive knowledge of sales principles and practices, and an ability to coach others on them.
  • Deep knowledge of media and advertising industry, business cycles, key revenue, and expense drivers.
  • Deep and broad business acumen with strong analytical, decision making and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in large sales organizations, including experience building and developing a team of sales professionals.
