The
Director of Key Accounts & Business Development is responsible for leading the strategic growth, profitability, and overall relationship with Lowe's and gaining new strategic accounts within retail space. The role combines high-level account leadership with proactive business development, driving both core business performance and new growth opportunities across categories, channels, and programs.
As the primary owner of the Lowe's account, this individual will oversee all aspects of the business, including P&L management, strategic planning, and cross-functional execution. Success in this role requires a strong ability to influence senior stakeholders, identify market opportunities, and translate insights into actionable growth strategies.
Key Responsibilities:Account Leadership & Strategy- Serve as the primary relationship owner for Lowe's, building strong partnerships with merchandising, supply chain, marketing, and planning teams.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term strategic plans to drive sustained, double-digit growth and market share expansion.
- Lead all aspects of the Lowe's business, including line reviews, assortment strategy, pricing, promotions, and innovation pipeline.
Business Development & Growth- Identify and unlock new business opportunities within Lowe's & outside of Lowe's identifying new business, including category expansion, new product introductions, digital setup / expansion and strategic programs.
- Leverage market trends, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to position the business for future growth.
- Drive proactive selling initiatives, including formal presentations, negotiations, and joint business planning.
Financial & Operational Ownership- Own full P&L responsibility, including revenue growth, margin optimization, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with internal and customer expectations.
- Monitor and analyze product performance, productivity, and profitability to inform decision-making.
Cross-Functional Leadership- Partner with internal teams-including marketing, category management, supply chain, digital and customer service-to ensure flawless execution.
- Act as the central liaison between the account and internal stakeholders, driving alignment and accountability.
- Lead and develop account team members to support growth initiatives.
Customer Engagement & Execution- Lead regular business reviews, including monthly and quarterly performance updates with account stakeholders.
- Drive effective communication, planning, and execution of promotional activities and key initiatives.
- Build trust-based relationships through deep understanding of the accounts business model, priorities, and market dynamics.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in sales, account management, or business development, with significant experience managing large retail accounts (home improvement channel strongly preferred).
- Proven track record of delivering sustained revenue growth and managing complex, high-volume accounts.
- Strong financial acumen, including P&L ownership, forecasting, and profitability management.
- Demonstrated success in strategic selling, negotiations, and executive-level relationship management.
- Experience leading line reviews, category strategy, and retail merchandising initiatives.
- Strong analytical capabilities with proficiency in tools such as Excel, Power BI, SAP, or CRM platforms.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and drive alignment across teams.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support the Lowe's account and other strategic accounts
