Full Job Description
This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. POSITION SPECIFICS The Department of Applied Linguistics in the College of the Liberal Artsseeks a visionary administrator to direct its Intensive English Communication Program (IECP). The Director will provide daily oversight of program operations; model and facilitate excellence in program communications; cultivate a transformative academic environment; develop and oversee recruitment efforts; hire, train, review and foster professional development of faculty and staff; and represent the IECP on campus and within the profession. The Director of the IECP reports directly to the Head of the Department of Applied Linguistics. As a member of the graduate faculty, the Director is eligible to teach a 1-0 course load in Applied Linguistics and to serve on graduate committees. Minimum Required Qualifications: A PhD or EdD in Teaching English as a Second Language (T.E.S.L.), Applied Linguistics or related fieldis required by appointment date.Experience in IEP program administration. Teaching experience in an intensive English or academic English preparation program in a college or university setting. Record of on-going professional development. Demonstrated successful program assessment and development. Outstanding professional, cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills. This is a full-time twelve-month academic professional position.A start date of January 2027 is preferred; however, this start date may be negotiated with the successful candidate.Salary is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the personal characteristics required of a demanding and significant role in administrative leadership.This position isOpen Rankand will be filled attherank ofAssistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Teaching Professor.
