Human Resources Director to lead our Human Resources function and support our mission of partnering with people with disabilities to envision and achieve their personal best. This leadership role provides direction for HR strategy, employee relations, compliance, compensation and benefits, HRIS, training support, policy development, and employee engagement across the agency.
Position SummaryThe Human Resources Director serves as a key member of the leadership team and reports to the CEO. This role leads a team of three HR professionals and partners with managers and employees throughout the organization to strengthen HR operations, support compliance, promote employee engagement, and foster a positive workplace culture.
What You'll Do- Lead, coach, and develop the Human Resources team.
- Serve as an advisor to managers on employee relations, performance management, coaching, discipline, promotion, and termination matters.
- Support organizational strategy, succession planning, leadership development, and workforce planning.
- Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and practices in alignment with applicable laws, regulations, contract requirements, and agency policies.
- Monitor employment legislation and HR trends to help ensure agency compliance.
- Lead employee engagement and internal communication efforts, including town halls, employee outreach, and communication through internal platforms.
- Oversee compensation, benefits, HRIS, employee records, EEO reporting, harassment prevention education, and training support.
- Partner with legal counsel and executive leadership on HR matters as needed.
- Participate in board-related HR needs, committees, audits, reviews, and special projects.
What We're Looking For- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in a related field preferred.
- Five to seven years of progressive human resources leadership experience.
- Strong employee relations and performance management experience.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR & DODD compliance practices.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing HR professionals.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, business writing, and technical skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
- Nonprofit, health and human services, developmental disabilities, or mission-driven organization experience preferred.
