JOB LOCATION: Towa Golf Course

TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE (DAYS/HRS PER WEEK): TBD
POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Golf provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all golf operations while ensuring seamless integration with the resort's luxury hospitality standards. This position is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience, maximizing financial performance, leading a high-performing team, and maintaining the golf course and clubhouse as a premier destination. The role partners closely with resort leadership to uphold AAA Four-Diamond service standards across every touchpoint.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead all aspects of golf course and clubhouse operations.
  • Develop and execute annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Drive revenue through green fees, memberships, tournaments, retail, food and beverage, and special events.
  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction consistent with Four-Diamond luxury standards.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and evaluate department managers and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Golf Professional, Golf Course Superintendent, Food & Beverage, Sales, and Resort Operations teams.
  • Maintain excellence in golf course conditioning and facility presentation.
  • Oversee merchandising and retail operations in the golf shop.
  • Develop marketing initiatives that increase rounds played and resort golf packages.
  • Manage vendor relationships, purchasing, and inventory controls.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze operational metrics and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Represent the golf operation in community events and industry organizations.
  • Utilize the resources of player development programs
  • Utilize the resources of PGA player development programs
  • Assist qualified Pueblo of Pojoaque Tribal members in employment opportunities with the Pueblo of Pojoaque Businesses by hiring, coaching and supporting their career growth.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Golf Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in golf, club, or luxury resort operations.
  • Experience managing championship golf facilities within an upscale resort environment preferred.
  • Proven success managing multimillion-dollar operating budgets.
  • Strong knowledge of golf operations, agronomy, clubhouse management, retail, food and beverage, and resort integration.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with golf management systems, property management systems, Microsoft Office, and financial reporting software.


REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Post-Secondary Degree or equivalent in golf administration, business or closely related field. Commensurate experience may be substituted for educational requirement.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years working within the golf industry, three at a senior management level
  • External knowledge of the golf industry, the golf game and golf etiquette
  • A Class A PGA membership is an asset


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk the golf course and clubhouse daily.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.
  • On 24-hour emergency call

• Travel required.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS:
  • PGA of America Professional preferred
  • Club Management Association of America certification (CCM) preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification
