Job Summary

As a Bench Director of Food & Nutrition Services, you will provide flexible, system-wide operational support across an 8-hospital healthcare network. In this role, you will step into Director-level leadership positions as needed to ensure operational continuity and service excellence. You will oversee day-to-day dining operations, support and lead teams of associates, maintain strong client relationships, and ensure superior food quality across multiple hospital campuses.

Bench leaders are essential in stabilizing operations, improving processes, and enhancing patient, retail, and guest dining experiences. You may support patient services, retail cafés, coffee shops, catering, grab-and-go programs, and other foodservice areas depending on the needs of each account.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, and internal departments across multiple hospitals.
  • Partner with Chefs and management teams to develop menus and deliver top-quality food and service.
  • Oversee P&L, budgeting, cost controls, and financial performance at assigned accounts.
  • Support staffing needs, training, and team engagement to ensure smooth operations during transitions or vacancies.
  • Assist with rolling out new culinary programs, initiatives, and company standards.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, food safety, sanitation, and operational excellence across all sites supported.
  • Serve as a consistent and reliable resource for account stabilization, leadership coverage, and operational improvement.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Food Service Management, or related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of foodservice operations leadership experience, ideally within healthcare or large-scale institutional dining.
  • High-volume production and catering experience strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing budgets, financial performance, and cost controls.
  • Strong leadership skills with the desire to learn, grow, and support a leading foodservice organization.
