Description
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and business-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of our law firm. The CFO will serve as a key member of the firm's leadership team, partnering with the Managing Partners and practice group leaders to develop financial strategies that support profitability, sustainable growth, operational efficiency, and long-term success.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in financial leadership, budgeting, financial reporting, cash flow management, and strategic planning, preferably within a law firm or professional services organization. This individual will understand the unique financial dynamics of a law firm, including partner compensation, attorney productivity, client billing, collections, trust accounting oversight, and working capital management.
Responsibilities
• Provide strategic insights that guide our firm's growth and enhance decision-making.
• Oversee budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and financial health.
• Develop and maintain robust financial models to support business planning and forecasting.
• Develop and execute the firm's financial strategy in alignment with its business objectives.
• Advise the Managing Partners on financial performance, profitability, operational efficiency. and strategic investments.
• Provide financial modeling and analysis to support growth initiatives, lateral attorney acquisitions, office expansions, and practice group development.
• Establish financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect the firm's assets and maintain financial integrity.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• CPA, MBA, or other relevant advanced qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of financial management experience, including significant leadership responsibility.
• Experience in leading financial strategy and operations within the legal industry or a similar sector.
• Ability to provide strategic insights that guide organizational growth and enhance decision-making processes.
• Expertise in overseeing budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and financial health.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining robust financial models to support business planning and forecasting.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with senior leadership, driving financial performance and operational efficiency.
