Director of Finance

$150,000–$185,000 Salary

Location: Charlotte, NC 28273 | In Person

Travel: Less than 10%

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Reports To: Executive Leadership

Lead Finance for a High-Growth Organization

A growing, multi-location company is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead its finance and accounting functions and help build the financial infrastructure to support continued expansion.This is a hands-on leadership role for a business-minded finance professional who can lead a team, ensure financial accuracy, improve processes, analyze performance, and serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership.We are looking for someone with exceptional attention to detail who doesn't simply review the numbers, but understands what is driving them and knows how to turn financial information into better business decisions.As the organization grows, this role has the potential to expand into broader executive responsibility, including a future CFO position for the right leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop the accounting and finance team
  • Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls
  • Ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and highly detailed
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis
  • Analyze location and business-unit performance, profitability, and key financial drivers
  • Identify cost, margin, and operational improvement opportunities
  • Provide financial insight and recommendations to executive leadership
  • Establish scalable finance processes, policies, and internal controls
  • Support new locations, expansion initiatives, acquisitions, and strategic projects
  • Partner with operations and leadership to improve financial performance
  • Manage relationships with outside accounting, tax, audit, banking, and financial partners
  • Improve financial systems, reporting, automation, and data integrity


What We're Looking For

  • CPA required
  • 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting leadership experience
  • Experience leading or overseeing a finance/accounting function
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and hold a team accountable
  • Experience in a multi-location, multi-unit, or decentralized organization
  • Strong GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and modeling expertise
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes
  • Strong Excel and financial systems experience
  • Excellent communication and executive presence
  • Ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial leaders
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
