The Director of Finance & Accounting will lead all financial and accounting functions at Marquette. This position will be responsible for managing the firm's financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support business growth. The Director of Finance & Accounting will play a critical role in shaping the firm's financial strategy.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Develop and execute financial strategies in alignment with the firm's long-term goals and objectives
- Provide leadership and expertise in financial accounting, budgeting, financial systems, strategic financial planning and problem solving
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.)
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, including consolidation and reporting for multiple entities
- Prepare shareholder and Board reports and deliver actionable insights to senior management and stakeholders
- Lead financial due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships
- Manage the firm's cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operational needs and investment activities
- Oversee treasury functions including cash forecasting, investment management, and banking relationships
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) required
- 10+ years of experience in a management role in finance or accounting
- Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, analysis, KPI development and reporting
- Expertise in financial software and systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, investment management software, O365); ability to leverage AI to promote efficiency
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
$175,000 - $250,000 a year
The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan.
