Job Skills / Requirements

The Director of Finance will play a key role in supporting the organization's financial operations, with a strong focus on contract administration, certified payroll compliance, and day-to-day accounting functions. This individual will work cross-functionally to ensure accurate financial reporting, assist in collections, and support the preparation of proposals and contractual deliverables. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced in both finance and operational support functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation, review, and submission of certified payroll in compliance with applicable regulations
  • Support contractual reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all client and regulatory submissions
  • Perform administrative tasks related to contracts, including tracking deliverables, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with contract terms
  • Assist with general accounting and finance functions, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis
  • Support accounts receivable and collections efforts, including follow-ups on outstanding invoices and maintaining aging reports
  • Participate in the development of cost proposals, including pricing analysis and supporting documentation
  • Collaborate with operations and compliance teams to ensure alignment between financial reporting and contractual obligations
  • Assist in improving internal processes, controls, and reporting efficiencies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (required), advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in Finance or Accounting roles
  • Strong understanding of certified payroll and contract-based financial environments preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with government contracts or prevailing wage environments
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., WinTeam or similar platforms)
