Director of Field & Events Marketing

About The Role

General counsel and legal ops leaders meet GC AI in person. They sit down at our executive dinners, take meetings at invite-only forums, stop by our booth at the biggest legal conferences, and join their peers at the GC AI Summit. Once they see the platform, they buy - and then they bring their whole team. Events and field programs are one of our most reliable ways to get in front of the right buyers.

We are hiring our Director of Field and Event Marketing to turn that motion into a pipeline engine that scales with a fast-growing sales team. You will own every event and field program GC AI runs, from an executive dinner for general counsel to a multi-day conference sponsorship. You will build a field marketing team that pairs with each sales leader across Strategic, Enterprise, and our new EMEA team in London.

This role reports to the CMO and works shoulder to shoulder with the CRO and sales leadership. You'll partner daily with Account Executives, our SDR team, Demand Generation, Revenue Operations, Product Marketing, Brand, and Customer Success. Demand Generation owns account-based programs and the target account tiers; you turn those accounts into rooms full of the right people.
What You'll Do

• Own event- and field-sourced pipeline, rolling up to marketing's number with Demand Generation
• Report weekly on meetings booked, pipeline created, and cost per qualified opportunity
• Own the event roadmap: GC AI Summit, sponsored conferences, executive forums, and dinners
• Design the details that make an event memorable, like the room, the guest list, the conversation, and the follow-up, and measure what people do afterward
• Score every event on audience fit and pipeline potential, and put budget behind what produces meetings
• Run every major event as an integrated campaign, from the target list and ICP definition through pre-event promotion, event strategy and execution, to post-event follow-up and measurement.
• Pair a field marketer with each sales leader across Strategic, Enterprise, and geographic mapping
• Run executive dinners and roundtables anchored on target accounts, each with an AE owner
• Launch our field program internationally
• Hold every event to pre-booked AE meetings and 24-hour follow-up
• Hire and lead a team of field marketers and event managers, plus agencies and vendors

What You'll Bring

• 10+ years in B2B field or event marketing, including 3+ years leading a team
• A record of owning event and field pipeline, with the numbers to show it
• Experience running a large events portfolio on a seven-figure budget
• At home in the pipeline review, with AEs pulling you into their biggest deals
• Operational rigor across vendors, contracts, budgets, and on-site execution
• Hands-on with HubSpot, attribution, and event ROI dashboards
• High-growth startup experience and comfort with frequent travel

Nice to Have

• Experience in legal AI or marketing to in-house legal teams
• AI-native: you use AI for attendee briefings, personalized invites, and post-event analysis
• Experience pairing events with account-based programs and target account tiers

A Note On Pace

We're building something new in a once-in-a-generation shift in technology and the legal industry, so we move at a relentless pace. We expect urgency, ownership, and good judgment even when things aren't perfectly clear. If you need structure and consensus to do your best work, this isn't the right place for you. If you thrive in ambiguity and growth, work with intensity, and want real responsibility, keep reading. We're excited to meet you.

How We Work Together

GC AI is a distributed company with team members across North America, and soon Europe. We believe that because our business is AI, human connection matters more, not less. We invest in bringing people together through our hub model: regular coworking sessions, customer dinners, team and company offsites. If you're in a location without an office, expect up to 10% travel (and more for customer-facing roles).

Team members in the San Francisco Bay Area and Provo, UT (within 50 miles of the office) work together on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. As we grow, we plan to establish permanent offices in more hub cities, and we will look to our team members to help build that in-person culture. We currently hire across the United States and Canada.
