Director of Engineering Remote | Full Time
About the Job: The Director of Engineering is responsible for the design, architecture, and execution of technology initiatives to propel Yardline to become the leader in global e-commerce FinTech. In this role, you will influence the product direction through technical insight & own the technical roadmap for the evolution of the product. You are interested in the technical design,and have experience and judgement to ensure that engineers are moving in the right direction. You will inspire your teams to deliver incredible outcomes and ensure that they have the right skills to do so. On a given day, you might be reviewing solution designs, coordinating discussions between vendor partners and internal teams, collaborating on roadmaps with design and product stakeholders, and providing status updates on deliverables to the executive management.
Responsibilities: Build and manage a world-class engineering team at Yardline. Provide technical direction, guidance, and hands-on management
Oversee all system design and system architecture. Create engineering standards and implement best practices
Develop project plans and timelines for development, and deployment
- Identify, compare, select, and implement technology solutions to meet current and future needs
- Build secure code practices and ensure quality
- Share technological visions, opportunities, and risks company-wide
What you bring to the party Experience growing and scaling software teams, both front-end, back-end and mobile.
10+ years of Software Development Experience.
5+ years of experience leading/managing cross-functional development teams.
Demonstrated experience in Java, React, Postgres, and AWS tech stack
Ability to balance business needs, a sense of urgency, and shipping high quality engineering solutions.
Experience in building and maturing engineering teams and infrastructure in a startup environment.
Strong analytical skills and a sense of ownership/accountability.
Experience or desire to work in a fast-paced environment
Hands on experience with complex project management and vendor management
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
