Leveraging your leadership to unite and inspire teams across the organization, you will drive modernization initiatives across engineering systems, automation, AI-enabled technologies, and operational workflows - playing a key role in shaping the future of engineering
  • Impact. The work we do and the products we build are critical to helping our clients engage with their buyers and create great experiences. As the Director of Engineering, you will play a key role in delivering value and driving success for the company, its employees and our end customers. You will have the opportunity to influence engineering strategy across multiple regions, strengthen leadership capability within the team, and build scalable engineering practices that support Array's continued growth.

You will:

  • Lead, develop and mentor all direct reports. You will conduct performance management cycles with clear expectations, structured feedback, and individualized development plans, while building a strong leadership bench through succession planning and coaching future managers and technical leaders. You will bring a visible, hands-on leadership style that fosters accountability, engagement, collaboration, and strong cross-functional relationships across the business.
  • Work collaboratively across teams. Working directly with the Creative Design Department, Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineering, and the Production Teams, you will establish expectations and deliverables on assigned projects, manage the overall schedule of deliverables for the entire team and direct and oversee all phases of engineering development. You will also partner with Commercial Operations, Estimating, and Prototyping teams, ensuring clear accountability across functions and alignment of engineering outputs to business priorities.
  • Nurture a growth mindset. You will foster a culture of innovative thinking and creative exploration, balanced with a commitment to practicality and delivering solutions that align with the project's objectives.
  • Develop a long-term strategic and visionary direction for the engineering department. You will implement initiatives aimed at enhancing the cost-effectiveness of engineering operations while upholding quality standards. This includes:
    • Establishing global engineering standards, governance models, and best practices
    • Driving enterprise-wide engineering excellence initiatives (cost, speed-to-market, quality)
    • Leading engineering systems and digital transformation efforts
    • Embedding VA/VE (Value Analysis / Value Engineering) discipline into engineering development practices
  • Prioritize continuous improvement. You will interact with other departments to ensure client deadlines are met and make recommendations to improve process methods, team performance, and the quality of work. You will lead structured process optimization initiatives across tools, workflows, and engineering systems to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Uphold company policies and enforce safety regulations. This includes ensuring 5S standards for the department are being met, and corrective actions are identified; all work is conducted per the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations and the health, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, and policies of Array Canada.
