Responsibilities
- Spearhead the recruitment, development, and leadership of the engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Optimize team deployment to ensure peak operational efficiency and workload management, achieving unmatched productivity standards.
- Champion the delivery of timely, meaningful performance feedback, driving career growth and professional development.
- Strategically oversee the maintenance and operations of the resort's physical infrastructure and systems, guaranteeing the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Lead comprehensive assessments of the resort’s structural, mechanical, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Mastermind inventory control, ensuring the engineering department is equipped with essential parts, supplies, and tools for maximum efficiency.
- Enforce adherence to organizational standards and procedures, maintaining an environment of excellence and compliance.
- Excel in resolving guest and team member challenges with innovative problem-solving skills and exceptional guest service focus.
- Act swiftly and decisively in emergency situations, prioritizing guest and employee safety above all.
- Direct the orchestration and execution of departmental strategies through regular meetings and meticulous record-keeping.
- Serve as a pivotal member of the Executive Committee, influencing the resort’s strategic direction and operational excellence.
- Actively participate in and contribute to staff meetings with insightful analysis and forward-thinking strategies.
- Ensure regulatory compliance across all operations, safeguarding the resort through adherence to local, state, and federal laws.
- Certify the technical proficiency of the engineering staff, upholding high standards of service and expertise.
- Skillfully manage subcontractor relationships, from solicitation to administration, ensuring quality and value in all external partnerships.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with precision, ensuring favorable terms and diligent oversight of consulting and contracting services.
- Serve as the essential link between the resort and governmental agencies, navigating regulatory landscapes to secure necessary permits and approvals.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive annual operating budget, aligning financial planning with strategic goals for payroll, expenses, and capital projects.
- Lead the department in operating within budgetary constraints, delivering financial analyses and strategic adjustments as needed.
- Establish a streamlined inventory and purchasing system, enhancing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Uphold the resort’s commitment to safety and maintenance, ensuring a secure and welcoming environment for all guests and staff.
- Lead or contribute significantly to the property’s safety committee, advocating for best practices in workplace safety and health.
Qualifications
- Experienced with 5 or more years leading facilities management of hospitality related properties.
- Experience in a comparable AAA Four Diamond/Four Star hotel or higher is highly desired.
- Engineering experience required.
- Must be skilled in problem solving and customer service.
- Seasoned trainer with supervisory experience who is able to provide “hands-on” instructions on a wide variety of topics, equipment and systems.
- Ability to effectively use a multi meter in troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Proven track record in managing an efficient work force focusing on preventative maintenance of the asset's public areas, guestrooms, and physical plant.
- Experience in organizing, implementing, and maintaining a preventative maintenance tracking system and work order system.
- Experience in coordinating and managing hospitality capital improvement projects, i.e. public areas and guestrooms renovations, FF&E repair and reupholstering, FF&E procurement, site and building maintenance and upgrades.
- Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical system problems.
- Must have extensive working knowledge of building systems to include but not limited to; HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, roofs, building finishes, mechanical operations, energy management and Preventative Maintenance Programs.
- Necessary to be able to hear emergency alarms and follow and direct appropriate emergency procedures.
- Strong communication skills- both oral and written. Proven command of the English language, both oral and written.
- Strong PC skills with an emphasis on Excel.
Working Conditions
- Ability to stand/walk for entire shift.
- Must be able to work various shifts.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. with assistance.
- Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces, and reach on a continuous basis.

Salary range: $115,000 - $135,000/yr. + bonus
