Job SummaryThe Director of Emergency Management develops, implements, and maintains campus-wide safety plans, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and respond to disasters. They lead emergency operations, coordinate training/drills, ensure compliance with safety regulations (like Clery Act/NIMS), and liaise with local public safety agencies.

Responsibilities - Develops and updates the University Comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and conducts vulnerability assessments.
- Coordinates campus-wide preparedness activities, training programs for staff, and simulations (e.g., active shooter drills).
- Directs the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during crises, coordinates with campus security, and handles post-disaster damage assessments.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; acts as the primary liaison with fire, police, and emergency management agencies.
- Manages emergency communication systems and develops educational materials for students/staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Emergency Management or related field.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience in higher education.
- Certifications such as Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or FEMA Incident Command System.
