Brief Description of Duties:SUNY Morrisville is seeking a Director of Development to oversee the planning and execution of the college's fundraising strategy. Reporting to the Vice President for Operations, the Director will be responsible for setting and achieving goals for annual giving, leadership and major gifts, planned giving, and corporate partnerships.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Develop and implement fundraising strategies that support the mission and goals of SUNY Morrisville.
- Build relationships with donors, organizations and other stakeholders and increase their engagement with the college.
- Manage all aspects of the fundraising cycle from prospect identification to solicitation and stewardship.
- Provide supervision for the Senior Associate Director of Annual Giving and work collaboratively to develop and manage fundraising campaigns that align with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with the Foundation Board of Directors, faculty, and key staff and administrators to identify funding sources and opportunities.
- Develop and manage budgets for fundraising programs and initiatives.
- Monitor progress toward fundraising goals and provide regular reports to key stakeholders including the Board of Directors and the college community.
- Pursue professional development opportunities to stay current on philanthropic and nonprofit trends and best practices.
Requirements:Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising or management with a successful track record of achieving fundraising goals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and inspire confidence in donors and stakeholders.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to write for different audiences including grant funders and prospective donors.
- Ability to think strategically, develop and implement plans, and manage competing priorities
- Passion for the mission and goals of the organization.
- The position will require some evening and weekend work for fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
