We're looking for a strategic and relationship-driven
Director of Development & Communications to lead our fundraising, marketing, volunteer engagement, and community outreach efforts while helping expand CRi's impact across Virginia and Maryland.
What You'll DoAs the Director of Development & Communications, you'll develop and execute strategies that strengthen CRi's financial sustainability and public presence by:
- Leading annual giving, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation partnerships, and grant initiatives.
- Cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, community leaders, board members, and corporate partners.
- Overseeing grant writing, donor stewardship, fundraising campaigns, and impact reporting.
- Driving CRi's marketing and communications strategy across digital, print, media, and social platforms.
- Managing volunteer recruitment, engagement, and recognition programs.
- Representing CRi at community events, networking opportunities, and fundraising functions.
- Supervising and developing a high-performing Development & Communications team.
- Collaborating closely with executive leadership to support CRi's long-term strategic growth.
RequirementsWhat We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Business, or a related field.
- Five or more years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or philanthropy.
- Demonstrated success securing major gifts, grants, corporate partnerships, and donor engagement.
- Experience leading fundraising campaigns and managing donor relationships.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational abilities.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in a related field.
- Experience working with nonprofit boards and volunteer leadership.
- Knowledge of donor database and fundraising CRM platforms.
- Passion for advancing the mission of organizations serving individuals with disabilities and behavioral health needs.
