Description

St. Mary's College of Maryland is accepting applications for the position of Director of Desktop and User Support Services. This position directs the User Support Services unit in the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Responsibilities include the effective supervision and management of all User and Desktop Support Services staff and students; managing the OIT Support Center; managing the hardware and software assets of the College; managing all campus-wide server-based (web, email, enterprise applications) systems, data storage, backup and recovery processes, and advising the Associate Vice President of Information Technology and CIO in devising and promulgating policies and requirements for the proper and effective use of computing resources at the College. The salary range for this position is $94,000 to $104,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in information technology support, endpoint management, customer service operations, or related areas.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise endpoint environments, service management platforms, technology asset management programs, and customer support operations.
  • Experience developing budgets, managing vendors, negotiating contracts, and leading technology projects.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education information technology environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, endpoing management platforms, mobile device management solutions, and service management systems.
  • ITIL, Microsoft, CompTIA, HDI, or related professional certifications.


Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
