Full Job Description
Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Corporate has an exciting opportunity for Director of Compliance (Quality, EHS & CI). The Director of Compliance will participate, as a member of the corporate management team, in overseeing corporate-wide management systems and programs related to Quality, Export compliance, Continuous Improvement, Environment, Health & Safety and the Magellan Operating System (MOS™). The responsibilities include maintenance of applicable policies, systems and programs, activities to verify compliance at all sites of the corporation, and assessment of new and changing stakeholder requirements to ensure applicable risks to the corporation are managed effectively. The individual may lead team projects including new product introduction involving multiple sites; efficiency and operational excellence improvements, first of a kind application, etc. The individual will provide oversight and direction to assigned team representatives, understanding the importance of all aspects of the business: quality, engineering, manufacturing, customer interests, supply and delivery of raw material, costs, support functions, etc. The individual will also direct standardization of applicable management tools and methods in line with recognized principles and techniques, and develop required training.

Compensation: $150k to $160k

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to standardize management system frameworks for Quality, CI, Export Compliance and EHS (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 22301, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.) across all regions of the corporation.
  • Establish related corporate-wide programs to promote operational excellence, including improved quality, cost and delivery.
  • Monitor industry trends and develop a thorough understanding of applicable laws and industry standards.
  • Maintain related policies, manuals, procedures and documentation. Assess the potential impact of new or changing legislation and stakeholder requirements. Develop and implement associated training.
  • Provide leadership in the management of multi-site projects and initiatives. Liaise with all departments, manage cross-functional teams and create, track and manage projects. Hold all resource allocated to the project/initiative accountable for their roles and responsibilities to ensure the program runs on time and to budget.


Position Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering and/or Business-Related program
  • Project Management accreditation (e.g., PMP designation) is an asset
  • ISO auditor certification is an asset
  • 10+ years of proven experience in leading projects ideally in aerospace, involving multi-site, cross-functional teams.
  • Varied multi-disciplined experience.
  • Experience as a customer contact.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing technical personnel and cross-functional teams. These experiences should be gained in areas of engineering or technical operations.
  • Previous experience within the aerospace manufacturing industry is an asset.
