Director of Communications About the Role

REDICO is seeking an experienced, strategic, and influential Director of Communications to lead enterprise-wide communications across REDICO and its affiliated brands, including American House. This leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing communication strategies that enhance brand reputation, strengthen stakeholder engagement, support business objectives, and elevate executive visibility.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned communications professional with expertise in public relations, media relations, executive communications, crisis management, and internal communications. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and play a critical role in shaping how our organization communicates with employees, customers, media, industry partners, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Communications Leadership
  • Develop and execute an enterprise communications strategy that supports organizational priorities, growth initiatives, and brand objectives.
  • Create and maintain messaging frameworks, communication standards, and brand communication guidelines to ensure consistency across all channels and audiences.
  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor to executive leadership on messaging, positioning, public perception, and reputational risk.
Public Relations & Media Relations
  • Lead proactive public relations and media engagement strategies that increase visibility, strengthen brand reputation, and support business growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media contacts, industry influencers, and key external stakeholders.
  • Develop press releases, media statements, executive bylines, and other external communications materials.
  • Monitor media coverage, industry trends, and emerging issues impacting the organization.
Executive Communications
  • Partner closely with senior executives to develop compelling and effective communications.
  • Prepare executive presentations, speeches, talking points, interview preparation materials, and stakeholder communications.
  • Enhance executive visibility through strategic positioning opportunities and thought leadership initiatives.
Crisis & Reputation Management
  • Lead crisis communications planning and response efforts.
  • Develop communication strategies and messaging for sensitive issues and organizational changes.

Internal Communications
  • Oversee internal communication strategies that drive employee engagement, transparency, and alignment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop communications team members while fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve communications processes, tools, and outcomes.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, strategic communications, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success leading media relations, executive communications, and crisis communications initiatives.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to translate complex business concepts into clear, compelling messaging.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership and influencing key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting organizations within real estate, healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or multi-site service environments.
  • Agency experience and/or in-house corporate communications leadership experience.
  • Experience managing brand reputation and executive thought leadership programs.
