Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an onsite Director of Capture Management - Space Warfighting, to help shape the next chapter of national security space. This is an exciting senior-level opportunity for a capture leader who wants to work and make an impact at the intersection of growth strategy, mission innovation, and one of the most important shifts in modern defense: space as an active warfighting domain. In this role, you will help Astrion move beyond traditional services capture and into integrated, solution-led growth across Space Force, Combatant Commands, Intelligence Community, and other national security space customers as well as allied nations. You will partner with senior growth, mission, campaign, technical, and customer-facing leaders to shape opportunities that bring together mission engineering, AI-enabled software, cyber-resilient ground systems, space control, space sensing, test and evaluation, operational support, and mission integration. This is a role for someone who can see where the market is going, understand what customers need before it is fully defined, and turn Astrions capabilities into differentiated solutions that matter to the warfighter.

MISSION AREA: SPACE WARFIGHTING

The Space Warfighting mission area is focused on customers across the U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command, Combat Forces Command, STARCOM, NRO, USSPACECOM, SAF/SQ, SMDC, related national security space partners and allied defense space organizations. Astrion is positioning this mission area around integrated capabilities for contested space architectures, missile warning and tracking, dynamic space operations and command and control, sensor-to-shooter orchestration, space control, electromagnetic warfare, cyber- and EW-resilient ground systems and links, operational test, training, wargaming, rapid acquisition, and mission sustainment.

This is not a role for someone who simply tracks opportunities. It requires a senior capture leader who can build customer trust, influence early shaping, understand the competitive field, develop credible solution strategies with technical SMEs, and lead disciplined capture campaigns from qualification through award.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

    • Minimum of 20+ years of capture management, business development, program management, military space operations, defense acquisition, or related national security growth experience.
    • Proven record personally leading and winning complex federal captures in the defense, intelligence, national security space, or mission-critical technical services market.
    • Demonstrated experience in Space Warfighting or adjacent mission areas, including several of the following: space control, space domain awareness, missile warning and tracking, OPIR, electromagnetic warfare, orbital warfare, mission C2/BMC2, ground systems, cyber resilience, operational test, wargaming, training, or mission operations support.
    • Strong familiarity with U.S. Space Force, SSC, CFC, STARCOM, NRO, USSPACECOM, SAF/SQ, SMDC, or related customers, including acquisition rhythms, mission priorities, customer pain points, and the industry ecosystem.
    • Experience shaping and capturing SETA, SE&I, test and evaluation, software, cyber, mission operations, space operations support, or integrated solution opportunities.
    • Working knowledge of FAR/DFARS, IDIQs, task orders, GWACs, OTAs, CSOs, rapid prototyping pathways, recompetes, price-to-win, and probability-of-win methods.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply market intelligence, competitive analysis, GovWin, FPDS, SAM.gov, CRM systems, AI, and data analytics to prioritize opportunities and improve capture management outcomes.
  • Education:
    • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, National Security, Space Systems, Public Policy, or a related field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Executive presence with the ability to engage senior government customers, industry partners, and internal executives with credibility and confidence.
    • Strong ability to translate complex mission needs into differentiated, customer-centered capture strategies and solution concepts.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence across matrixed teams.
    • Strategic thinker with disciplined business judgment, including the ability to assess where Astrion should prime, sub, team, invest, or no-bid.
    • Ability to lead cross-functional capture teams across business development, operations, technical SMEs, contracts, pricing, finance, recruiting, and executive stakeholders.
  • Clearance:
    • U.S. citizenship required.
    • Top Secret/SCI eligible; active TS/SCI w/CI Poly preferred.
