Position Description:

Part of the Business Development and Communications (BDC) Department, leads ATI's business development pursuits, evaluates new areas of potential business, assists clients and partner relationships, and develops new opportunities within existing relationships as well as new clients and partners. Serves as a key strategic advisor and thought leader to the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Communications, COO, and CEO regarding growth opportunities and innovative business pursuits that would highlight ATI's value proposition.

We offer a hybrid schedule (in-office & remote/work from home) or an onsite schedule and flexible hours. Candidates will need to reside near Charleston, SC to ensure work site flexibility.

Essential Functions:

Serves as a strategic business development thought leader for the company and drives concepts and campaigns that further those initiatives.

Establishes a high level of knowledge of ATI's vision, strategic priorities, people, capabilities, and our core industry needs and lead the Business Development team to drive that vision throughout the Department and across the company.

Develops and leads ATI's pursuits, business proposals, and solutions.

Directly responsible for increasing ATI business through new opportunities, partnerships and new and existing business relationships

Drives market research to identify new opportunities.

Creates new pursuits to expand current offerings.

Identifies and targets new business development opportunities.

Facilitates and executes successful interface with internal and external stakeholders.

Oversees development of competitor profiles and business intelligence reporting.

Leads proposal development process.

Develops and implements annual business development goals and objectives.

Tracks business development resources and recommends the optimum use of time and funds expended.

Prepares business plans and facilitates presentations and customer meetings.

Assists with training, coaching and the development of ATI employees who have business development duties or responsibilities.

Works with ATI's Executive Leadership Team and Department/Division leads to identify, develop, and execute strategic projects, to include leading and managing, cross-functional teams that execute strategic projects on time and within budget.

Supports the development of measurable deliverables for the Executive Consultants (EC) and makes recommendations on additions/subtractions to the group.

Develops and leads the execution of the annual corporate engagement plan with regards to ATI attendance at expos, symposiums, speaking engagements, etc.

As necessary attend and represent ATI at such events.

Identifies new relationships and develops strategic engagement plans to elevate ATI's profile that will increase the potential to win new business.

Assists with the development and execution of ATI's strategic initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of directly related experience; or a Masters with 6 years of directly related experience in capture leadership, business development, program management, and/or engineering roles demonstrating deep understanding of the Department of Defense (DoD), Other Transactional Authority (OTA) industry, or other related government experience.
  • Must have previous supervisory experience.
  • Prior experience in business development and/or program management required.
  • Experience with government programs desirable.
  • Prior military or government service desired.
  • Prior experience in R&D acquisition and familiarity with the research and development sponsors within DoD and outside DoD desired.
  • Must possess an in-depth understanding of the federal budget and procurement process.
  • Experience in responding to requests for proposals (RFP) and preparing proposals.
  • Must be able to give in-depth briefings to executive level audience.
  • Strong computer skills including Excel skills, MS Office Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project desired.
  • Must be able to travel at the discretion of ATI.
  • Must be either a U.S. Citizen by birth or naturalization.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance and successfully pass a background check to access sensitive information and automated systems.
  • An understanding of the Department of Defense, Other Transaction Authorities, or other related government experience.
  • Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans as well as process improvements.
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communications skills.
  • Solid leadership skills, strong business acumen, and the ability to lead change.
  • Strong interpersonal skills include ability to actively listen, read audiences, and quickly identify key issues and areas of need.
  • Must be able to deliver in-depth briefings, both written and verbal, to an executive level audience.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently, and enjoy creating and implementing new initiatives.
  • Must successfully pass a background check to access sensitive information and automated systems.
