Director, Market Intelligence
Reporting To: VP, Global Ecosystem Strategy (Within CMSPI's Consulting Solutions function)
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid - 3 days a week onsite)
We're looking for a senior payments leader who enjoys making complex topics useful. In this role, you'll shape CMSPI's client-facing Market Intelligence agenda and turn our expertise, data, technology, and commercial judgment into practical guidance for some of the world's largest merchants. This role is for someone who wants to do more than track industry news or produce reports. We are looking for a credible, commercially minded payments expert who can explain why developments matter, what choices they create for clients, and how CMSPI can help clients act with confidence. It is a strong fit for someone who wants to combine deep payments expertise with a visible internal and external role.
What you'll do - Shape CMSPI's market agenda: Identify and prioritise the industry developments, risks, opportunities, and innovations that CMSPI should lead on. Turn early market signals into clear points of view, client education, and practical guidance on where merchants should pay attention, make decisions, or take action
- Turn market developments, proprietary data, benchmarks, and platform insights into briefings, education materials, client-ready narratives, and clear points of view
- Bring Market Intelligence into executive briefings, strategic reviews, merchant education, renewals, sales meetings, and growth conversations with priority clients
- Represent CMSPI in senior client discussions, industry events, conferences, webinars, blogs, marketing activity, and external forums
- Work closely with Product, Data, Partnerships, Sales, Delivery, Marketing, and leadership so Market Intelligence is connected to how CMSPI builds, sells, and delivers value
- Work in close partnership with the Solutions team leadership, our go-to-market team, and our Chief Economist to align perspectives and ensure ownership over key initiatives
- Guide a small, accountable team producing timely, useful, and repeatable intelligence that clients and account teams can actually use
- Triage demand and focus effort: Prioritize requests from clients and account leads, deciding what should be escalated, what can be scaled through the team, and where Market Intelligence can create the most value
RequirementsWhat we're looking for - Senior-level experience in payments, fintech, merchant acquiring, card networks, issuing, payment operations, payments consulting, market intelligence, strategy, or a related field
- A strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, with the ability to connect market, regulatory, technology, network, issuer, acquirer, and merchant trends to practical client implications
- Experience setting priorities, guiding work, and helping a small team or cross-functional group produce strong, useful output
- Credibility with senior client, industry, and internal stakeholders, including confidence in client meetings, sales conversations, events, and market forums
- Strong communication, storytelling, and thought-leadership skills, with the ability to make complex market change clear, relevant, and actionable
- Commercial judgment, curiosity, and a genuine interest in helping clients and colleagues understand what is changing and what to do next
