Job Title: Director, Legal Affairs
Location: Atlanta, GA (hybrid) strongly preferred but will consider remote candidates based in the US.
Reports to: SVP, General Counsel
About the role We're looking for a Director, Legal Affairs to support our leading SaaS business. This role covers a broad range of legal matters including commercial contracts, data privacy, and AI governance, as well as building practical legal processes. You'll work closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Security, Finance, and People teams to support the business and manage legal risk.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on legal generalist who enjoys varied work and wants to help shape legal and compliance practices at a leading software company.
Responsibilities- Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS, software license, data processing, proof of concept, non-disclosure, and other agreements with customers, vendors and partners
- Develop legal playbooks and templates to support sales and the procurement process
- Advise on data privacy matters including compliance with CCPA/CPRA, GDPR and other applicable US and international privacy laws
- Work with the other members of the Legal team including the Head of Legal, EMEA & APAC, to build and maintain the company's data privacy and AI governance frameworks
- Advise cross-functional teams (Sales, Product, Engineering, Security, Marketing, Finance, HR) on legal risks
- Support the SVP, General Counsel on corporate governance matters, including board materials and entity management
- Monitor legal developments regarding data privacy, AI and other regulatory matters, and draft practical policies as needed
- Contribute to compliance initiatives (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.)
Qualifications & Skills- 7+ years of relevant legal experience, including in-house experience at a technology or SaaS company
- J.D. and active bar membership in at least one US state
- Demonstrated experience as a legal generalist including advising on data privacy law and AI governance
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, with the judgment to balance legal risk against business velocity
- Ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders
- A pragmatic, business-minded approach
Nice to have - CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification
- Experience with security compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001)
- Prior experience building legal processes
- Familiarity with corporate governance for private equity-backed companies

The pay range for this position is between $175,000 - 200,000 plus Incentive Bonus. Starting salary may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
