Enterprise Transformation defines the process, systems, and AI roadmap in partnership with Operations and IT stakeholders. As Director, IT Portfolio Management, you will own the strategy behind that roadmap: how IT funds, sequences, resources, and measures it, and how IT operates as a delivery organization. You will lead the team that runs portfolio and program management, the IT operating model, vendor management, and capacity governance.
Your first major deliverable is the annual planning cycle. You will define the intake process, the prioritization model, and quarterly executive engagement, then hold the IT organization to the plan once it is approved. Day to day, you will partner with the CIO, FP&A, and functional leaders, lead technical program managers, and make sure the right work gets funded, delivered, and measured.
What you will doAs a Director, IT Portfolio Management, you can expect to:
- Run the annual IT investment plan with FP&A, aligned to the budget calendar, using one intake and prioritization process for all requests. Present funded, partially funded, and unfunded scenarios with explicit trade-offs, then move to a rolling quarterly refresh after the first cycle.
- Own the IT operating model, including investment planning standards, resource governance, QBR cadence, vendor management and renewals, and the IT RACI that defines decision rights across Enterprise Transformation, Enterprise Applications, Data Solutions, Services & Infrastructure, and business owners.
- Reconcile capacity with demand across IT. Lead the TPM team, assign TPMs to initiatives, and maintain one sizing model that separates committed from requested work, builds in a buffer for unplanned work, and tracks estimates against actuals.
- Standardize delivery governance with one status template, one source of truth, and formal change control on scope. Run project kickoff standards, release readiness, and cross-IT dependency and risk management.
- Track benefits realization by requiring a benefit type, baseline, and named business owner on every proposal, and by running post-implementation reviews at 30, 60, and 90 days. Publish an automated portfolio dashboard that reports delivery status and benefits independently, and report time-to-benefit and variance to the business case directly to the CIO.
What you will needIntapp is looking for intellectually curious, self-motivated professionals who like to get hands-on to contribute to the overall success of the business and their team. To apply for this Director, IT Strategy & Operations role, you will ideally have:
- Experience in strategy and operations, portfolio management, PMO, or program delivery within B2B SaaS or professional services technology, including leading program or project managers through performance management and capacity allocation.
- Direct ownership of an annual technology investment planning cycle, including scenario modeling and a budget partnership with finance.
- Experience owning IT vendor management and renewals, and an IT operating model that covers intake, a quarterly operating review cadence, and resource governance.
- A track record of building intake, scoring, and stage-gate governance that the business adopted.
- Fluency in business case and benefits math, including ROI, payback, hard versus soft savings, and baselines.
- Executive communication skills, including the ability to say no with data, and hands-on comfort with portfolio tooling (such as Jira, Asana, or a dedicated PPM tool) and AI tools for analysis and reporting.
