Summary:

Responsible for the management, planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing and monitoring of the Infection Prevention and Control Program for Catholic Health (CH) with matrix oversight responsibility for all ministries. Responsibilities will include budgeting and determining staffing priorities. Responsible for assuring that CH meets Infection Prevention and Control Standards applied by external agencies such as the CDC, CMS, DOH, The Joint Commission, OSHA and others. Assures that the Infection Prevention and Control Program provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff through prevention and risk reduction interventions. This position involves professional responsibilities in the areas of case finding, surveillance, analysis and interpretation, reporting, inspection, education, consultation and recommendations to prevent and control infections.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION
  • Masters Degree, MSN, MPH, PT, OT, RT, RD, Clinical Science
  • Current Professional Licensed by the State of New York as applicable by degree
  • CurrentCertification in Infection Control or eligible for certification
EXPERIENCE

  • Three (3) years of Infection Control experience in an acute care setting
  • Five (5) years clinical experience
  • Three (3) years Management experience
  • Emergency Preparedness experience preferred


KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with other members of Management, Administration, Medical Staff and front line staff
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead, challenge, motivate and facilitate others to achieve results
  • Understanding of statistics, population health and regulatory agencies
  • Ability to lead cross organizational teams to improve identified outcomes
  • Experience in planning and presentation of group programs
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Strong managerial skills to successfully manage Infection Control team
  • Valid NYS Drivers License
WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Flexible schedule and able to travel to multiple CH sites
  • Will carry a cell phone to be available for emergent issues
