Full Job Description
The Director, Human Resources is responsible to lead the HR initiatives and programs for the Network Entity or Hospital. Position reports to the Entity President with an informal reporting relationship to the Chief Human Resources Officer. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Plans, organizes, directs and controls various Human Resources programs, including recruitment and training, compensation and benefits, employee relations and policies and procedures. • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish and maintain a positive employer-employee relationship to promote a high level of employee satisfaction. • Advises management on various issues involving disciplinary actions, promotions, transfers, salary recommendations, policy interpretations, terminations and grievances. • Proactively identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the Human Resources function. Monitors exposure for the Hospital. Directs the preparation of information requested or required for compliance. Acts as the primary contact with labor counsel and outside government agencies. • Supervises HR staff. • Interfaces with various community groups and maintains public and administrative communications. • Attends meetings and serves on task forces related to Entity operations and Human Resources initiatives. • Maintains OSHA logs and handles worker's compensation claims. • Ensures Entity employee data is correctly entered into employee reporting systems. • Handles unemployment claims and challenges when appropriate; attends hearings. • Prepares for and participates in internal and external regulatory reviews including Joint Commission. • Oversees planning of service awards functions and United Way campaign. • Collaborates with the Network HR administrative team and other Entity HR Directors to accomplish essential functions. PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: Sitting up to 7 hours per day, 2 hours at a time. Standing/walking up to 1 hour per day, 15 minutes at a time. Frequently uses fingers/hands for typing, computer entry, etc. Twisting and turning of hands occasionally. Occasionally carries, pushes or pulls an object up to 25 lbs. Occasionally stoops, bends, kneels, climbs and reaches above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to general and near vision. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five to seven years of Human Resources or related experience required. Demonstrated leadership skills and strong decision-making skills required. Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required. Strong computer skills required: Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, HRIS/ATS. Please complete your application using your full legal name and current home address.
