Director, Physician Services Operations
Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic healthcare leader to oversee operations for multiple hospital-based physician service lines across acute and post-acute care settings. In this highly visible leadership role, you will partner closely with physician leaders, clinical teams, and executive stakeholders to drive operational excellence, quality outcomes, and sustainable growth.

Reporting to Operations Leadership and working collaboratively with Division Medical Directors and dyad partners, the Director is responsible for the overall administration, organization, and performance of physician practice operations. This role plays a critical part in advancing strategic initiatives, optimizing operational and financial performance, enhancing patient care delivery, and supporting the continued growth of physician services across the health system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational leadership and oversight for multiple physician service lines and practice locations.
  • Partner with physician and clinical leaders to achieve strategic, operational, financial, and quality goals.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives through the development and monitoring of key performance indicators, dashboards, and operational workgroups.
  • Drive volume growth and service line expansion through strategic planning and market development initiatives.
  • Oversee annual operating and capital budget planning, financial performance, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
  • Monitor and improve operational efficiency, patient experience, quality outcomes, and provider engagement.
  • Support physician and staff education, onboarding, and professional development initiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for new programs, services, and innovative care delivery models.
  • Collaborate on system-wide projects and initiatives that support organizational priorities and growth objectives.
Qualifications
Education

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, Business, Management, or a related field

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (MHA)
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA)
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or related healthcare field
Experience

Required

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in physician practice management, healthcare operations, or outpatient services.

Preferred

  • Experience leading ambulatory and hospital-based physician operations within a complex healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated success in business operations, strategic planning, financial management, and performance improvement.
  • Experience overseeing multispecialty physician practices and hospital-based service lines.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, quality metrics, and operational best practices.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships with physicians, clinical leaders, and executive stakeholders.
