Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

The Director will establish and lead Revolution Medicines' external scientific society engagement strategy, developing trusted partnerships across professional societies, community oncology networks, and research foundations. Through these relationships, the role will create a continuous exchange of scientific and healthcare ecosystem insights that informs evidence generation, medical strategy, clinical development, and commercial planning throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute Revolution Medicines' external scientific engagement strategy, establishing long-term partnerships with professional societies, research foundations, and community oncology stakeholders.
  • Lead strategic engagement with global and national oncology societies to strengthen scientific collaboration, identify emerging opportunities, and enhance the company's external scientific presence.
  • Build and maintain relationships with scientific leaders, young investigators, and key external stakeholders to foster innovation, advance research collaborations, and support the future oncology community.
  • Generate and synthesize scientific, clinical, and healthcare ecosystem insights from external engagements, translating them into actionable recommendations that inform Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, evidence generation, and commercial strategy.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Translational Medicine, Research, Medical Communications, HEOR, Market Access, Commercial, and Field Medical teams to align external engagement strategies with enterprise priorities.
  • Represent Revolution Medicines with scientific credibility and integrity in interactions with professional societies, research foundations, and external scientific organizations while ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in the oncology biopharmaceutical industry, with significant experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Scientific Strategy, External Engagement, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated success developing and leading external scientific engagement strategies with professional medical societies, research foundations, academic organizations, and oncology networks.
  • Deep understanding of the oncology landscape, including scientific exchange, evidence generation, clinical research, and evolving standards of care.
  • Experience translating external scientific and healthcare ecosystem insights into strategic recommendations that influence portfolio, evidence generation, and commercialization decisions.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), society leadership, investigators, and external stakeholders across academic and community oncology settings.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership experience collaborating with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Translational Medicine, Research, Commercial, Market Access, HEOR, and Medical Communications.
  • Experience representing an organization at major scientific congresses, advisory activities, and professional society meetings.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of applicable healthcare compliance, legal, and regulatory requirements governing scientific exchange and external engagement.
  • Advanced scientific degree preferred (PharmD, PhD, NP).

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in precision oncology or targeted therapies.
  • Experience with global product launches including support of launch planning.


The base pay salary range for this full-time position for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA is listed below.
