Job Description Summary:Direct and supervise functions and activities for Emergency Center, Urgent Care, and Trauma Services at multiple sites; interpret and implement policies, procedures, standards and regulations to personnel, patients, medical staff, public.
Description: Lead Emergency Care for a RegionThe Director of the Emergency Center is responsible for the overall leadership, direction, and performance of emergency department operations. This leader will oversee clinical quality, patient experience, throughput, staffing, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth initiatives while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
Reporting to the ACNO, the Director will partner closely with physicians, nursing leaders, ancillary departments, and executive stakeholders to ensure the Emergency Center consistently delivers outstanding outcomes and exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership for all Emergency Center activities.
- Direct day-to-day clinical and administrative operations for a high-volume emergency department.
- Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
- Develop and execute initiatives to improve patient flow, capacity management, and ED throughput.
- Lead workforce planning, recruitment, retention, succession planning, and staff development efforts.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators including:
- Patient experience
- Door-to-provider times
- Length of stay
- Left Without Being Seen (LWBS)
- Clinical quality outcomes
- Manage departmental budgeting, productivity, labor management, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with DNV standards, CMS regulations, state requirements, and hospital policies.
- Collaborate with physician leadership and multidisciplinary teams to support organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
QualificationsRequired- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia or eligibility for licensure & AHA BLS.
- Progressive leadership experience within Emergency Services.
- Demonstrated success leading large teams in a complex acute-care environment.
- Strong knowledge of emergency department operations, quality metrics, regulatory requirements, and budget management.
