About the Role

The Director, Data Acquisition provides strategic leadership in identifying, evaluating, securing, and managing external data assets that advance the Life Insurance and Healthcare strategy. The Director oversees the third-party data portfolio supporting these verticals, partners with vertical leaders to set data acquisition priorities, creates business opportunities, and leads complex commercial and supplier decisions. As an Enabling Leader, the Director sets a clear vision, empowers diverse cross-functional teams to deliver through influence, communicates with impact, leads inclusively, and builds trusted relationships across product, analytics, legal, compliance, finance, technology, and senior leadership.

This role is currently hybrid from Alpharetta, GA (1x week).

Responsibilities
  • Setting and executing the data acquisition strategy, priorities, operating model, and measurable outcomes aligned with the Life Insurance and Healthcare vertical leads.
  • Managing a portfolio of existing 3rd party relationships, including managing contracts, relationships and business opportunities.
  • Identifying and prioritizing new data acquisition and partnership opportunities that strengthen product differentiation, commercial value, and sustainable growth.
  • Leading supplier relationships, complex negotiations, and contract decisions while balancing value, risk, resilience, and long-term flexibility.
  • Overseeing the full supplier and data lifecycle, including due diligence, evaluation, onboarding, governance, performance management, renewals, and issue resolution.
  • Partnering across product, vertical, legal, compliance, finance, technology, and senior leadership to build alignment, share expertise, and accelerate decisions.
  • Developing compelling business cases, recommendations, and executive communications grounded in market insight, data, and objective analysis.
  • Anticipating emerging risks and opportunities, adapting priorities as conditions change, and continuously improving processes and ways of working.
  • Providing strategic direction for cross functional teams while maintaining accountability for sustainable business and operational results.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or risk management, preferred
  • Minimum 10 years related work experience,
  • Established relationships and a strong professional network within the healthcare data industry
  • Experience supporting data-driven products and solutions in the healthcare or life insurance industry strongly preferred
  • Clear understanding of HIPAA and FCRA regulatory obligations
  • Experienced with business development
  • Proven success with complex contract negotiations
  • Proven success managing external data and vendor relationships
  • Proven success working with multiple functional areas
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong research, financial analysis, business influence skills
  • Solid collaboration and communication skills, that enable clear interaction with all levels of the organization
  • Executive presence, professional presentation skills
  • Understanding of technology and database applications
  • Detail orientated
  • Ability to handle multiple issues concurrently in a dynamic environment.
U.S. National Base Pay Range: $136,100 - $252,800. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.This job is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
