Position SummaryCFS Brands is seeking a Director of Creative and Content to lead our in-house creative function and strengthen the capabilities required to support a growing portfolio of brands.
This is a leadership role that combines creative direction, people leadership, and operational ownership. The Director will set a high standard for creative and content execution while continuing to strengthen the processes, capabilities, and resource model needed to support evolving business priorities.
The Director will lead in-house and offshore creative professionals, oversee external agency partners, and own creative intake, demand planning, prioritization, capacity, workflow, and resource allocation across a complex, multi-brand organization. The ideal candidate connects brand identity, customer needs, product knowledge, and portfolio capabilities to create relevant, solution-oriented work.
Key ResponsibilitiesCreative and content leadership
- Lead creative and content development across the CFS Brands portfolio and establish a high standard for quality, storytelling, and brand consistency.
- Translate brand, customer, product, and commercial priorities into compelling creative strategies and deliverables.
- Provide clear creative direction and constructive feedback while empowering the team to develop strong solutions.
People leadership and capability building
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of in-house and offshore creative professionals.
- Build team capabilities aligned with the evolving needs of the business and identify opportunities for development, additional expertise, or resources.
- Establish clear roles, expectations, accountability, and performance standards that help the team do its best work.
- Foster a collaborative team model with clear ownership, strong communication, and accountability from brief through completion.
Creative operations and prioritization
- Own the end-to-end creative operating model from intake through completion, including decision rules, project ownership, review expectations, and escalation paths.
- Maintain visibility into demand, capacity, priorities, deadlines, dependencies, status, and tradeoffs across the portfolio.
- Prioritize work based on strategic importance, business impact, timing, and available resources; decide what to start, stop, simplify, defer, decline, or outsource.
- Build processes, metrics, and tools that improve accountability, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Agency and resource management
- Develop an effective resource model across internal talent, offshore resources, freelancers, and external agencies.
- Lead agency relationships, including partner selection, briefs, scopes, budgets, timelines, performance, quality, and changes in support.
- Determine when work should remain in-house and when external expertise or additional capacity is required.
Cross-functional leadership
- Build strong partnerships across Marketing, Product Management, Sales, Digital, Channel Marketing, Tradeshows, and other functions.
- Partner with Product Management to support high-volume product needs and translate product knowledge into clear customer and dealer stories.
- Navigate competing priorities and stakeholder expectations; present recommendations and creative work effectively to senior leadership.
Brand governance and scale
- Strengthen creative standards and brand governance across the portfolio.
- Build repeatable processes, templates, and tools that improve consistency and efficiency without making the work feel generic.
- Help evolve the creative organization as CFS Brands grows across brands, products, channels, and markets.
Qualifications- 8+ years of progressive experience in creative, content, brand, marketing, advertising, or related disciplines, including experience leading people or a function.
- Demonstrated experience building, restructuring, or scaling a creative, content, or marketing function.
- Strong creative judgment with experience across integrated marketing channels and a portfolio demonstrating visual storytelling and content development.
- Experience managing high-volume creative workflows across multiple brands, business units, or stakeholder groups.
- Strong project prioritization, demand planning, resource allocation, and creative operations capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop talent, coach performance, build team capabilities, and align resources with business needs.
- Experience managing agencies, freelancers, photographers, and other external creative partners.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to balance creative quality with business priorities, deadlines, budgets, and available resources.
- Experience in a multi-brand, B2B, manufacturing, foodservice, healthcare, or similarly complex organization preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, design, advertising, or a related field preferred.
