ABOUT THE ROLE

The Director of FP&A will play a critical role in driving the financial planning and analysis processes across Tenneco's global operations. This strategic leader partners closely with senior finance leadership, Segment FP&A teams, and functional leaders to deliver timely, accurate, and insight-driven analysis that informs decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical depth, executive-ready communication skills, and the ability to lead complex processes while influencing outcomes across a matrixed organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Analysis, Executive Insights, project leadership
  • Lead advanced financial and operational analysis to explain performance drivers, identify risks and opportunities, and support enterprise and functional decision-making
  • Translate complex financial results into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior finance leadership and key stakeholders
  • Lead and execute high-priority, cross-functional strategic projects sponsored by the CFO and senior leadership, serving as the finance lead from problem framing through recommendation and execution support
  • Partner with corporate strategy, operations, business unit leadership and investors to assess strategic alternatives, validate assumptions and quantify financial and operational impacts
  • Support major transactions and enterprise events (e.g., divestitures, integrations, footprint optimization, large restructuring programs) through targeted financial analysis and leadership-ready insights


Financial Planning, Forecasting and Reporting
  • Oversee the development of robust budgets, forecasts, and long-range strategic financial plans; working collaboratively with segment leaders to identify risks and opportunities within financial plans
  • Implement tools and best practices that improve forecast and consolidation quality and reduce cycle time without compromising analytical depth
  • Prepare high-quality management presentations and materials for the CFO, executive leadership, and internal operating reviews
  • Partner with senior FP&A leaders to strengthen narrative quality, analytical rigor, and consistency of messaging across corporate deliverables


Team leadership and Business Partnering
  • Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership, synthesizing analysis into strategic recommendations that advance financial and operational priorities
  • Cultivate strong relationships with business unit leaders, influencing outcomes through data-driven perspectives and strategic counsel
  • Build and develop an analytically strong, insight-driven FP&A team with a culture anchored in executive-level communication, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or another technical field; MBA or CPA preferred.

Experience:

8+ years of experience in FP&A, with a strong emphasis on analysis within a large, complex organization.

Proven track record in a similar role within the automotive or industrial sectors is preferred

Skills:

Expertise in financial systems and tools such as OneStream and SAP

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering actionable insights

Exceptional communication and presentation skills; capable of effectively engaging with C-level executives

Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop teams across multiple geographies
