THE OPPORTUNITY

We're seeking a highly motivated professional who has proven success in leading, planning, developing and implementing integrated communications campaigns, with a specific expertise in strategic communications, public affairs, issues management, media relations, and brand reputation management. Candidates should be self-starters ready to provide analysis, recommendations and leadership, while also planning and executing work along with internal and client teams. Experience with the tech sector and data infrastructure is preferred but not required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Working with cross functional teams across all of our Global Prairie offices, this individual will be responsible for a variety of tasks, such as:

Client Management
  • Providing senior-level counsel to clients and internal teams on communications strategy, stakeholder dynamics, risk mitigation, and public affairs opportunities
  • Serving as a trusted main point of contact for our clients, leading day-to-day communication and deliverables
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients
  • Developing and maintaining strong understanding of the macro industry with which a client account is associated for the benefit of offering best in class strategic consultation


Campaign Planning
  • Leading the development of integrated, multi-channel communications and public affairs strategies that align business objectives with policy, reputational, and stakeholder priorities
  • Anticipating, monitoring, and analyzing policy, regulatory, political, and media landscapes to proactively guide client strategy and decision-making
  • Planning in advance and real time reaction to public affairs client challenges; and coordinating with a cross section of Global Prairie teams to integrate across broader deliverables
  • Translating complex legislative, regulatory, and policy issues into clear, compelling narratives and messaging for policymakers, stakeholders, media, and public audiences
  • Utilizing and nurturing relationships with media, influencers, policymakers, and key stakeholders to advance specific project goals
  • Managing multiple workstreams simultaneously while ensuring strategic alignment and high-quality execution across deliverables
  • Overseeing the creation of high-quality, client-ready deliverables, including messaging frameworks, talking points, briefing materials, executive communications, media materials, and campaign plans


Leadership and Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Driving cross-functional collaboration with digital, creative, paid media, research, and earned media teams to deliver cohesive, insight-driven campaigns
  • Leading project deliverables from project kick off to completion as part of a high functioning multidisciplinary team
  • Managing timelines and budgets in partnership with project management team
  • Overseeing client billing in partnership with finance team
  • Mentoring and providing direction to junior team members, including reviewing work, offering feedback, and supporting professional growth
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism


New Business and Organic Growth
  • Identifying and driving growth opportunities for Global Prairie
  • Leading and contributing to new business and organic growth efforts, including opportunity identification, strategic concepting, proposal development, and pitch leadership
  • Identifying opportunities to expand client engagements through emerging policy issues, reputational needs, and stakeholder dynamics


Additionally, the ideal candidate must meet these qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, journalism, digital marketing, consulting, or similar positions
  • Demonstrated success in planning, managing and executing complex communications campaigns
  • Experience building relationships and securing favorable brand coverage with media publications at the local, regional and national level
  • Experience in the data and tech industries, preferred but not required
  • Effective communication skills - long form written, informal spoken, and formal presentation style


The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final agreed upon compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including but not limited to: candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experiences and may fall outside the range shown.   • Expected compensation range: $110,000-$145,000

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK CONDITIONS

The physical activity required of this position includes standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, kneeling, reaching, stooping, talking, hearing and use of repetitive motion. Light work is required of this position, occasionally lifting or moving objects between 10-20 pounds. The visual acuity of this position requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle. This position will not be substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
