Job Summary
The Director of the Cath Lab leads the department in delivering exceptional interventional cardiology care. The role includes supervision of clinical performance, staffing, budgeting, and regulatory compliance. The director participates in procedures as needed, evaluates staff performance, manages departmental goals, and ensures operational efficiency. This position serves as a liaison between clinical staff, administration, and physicians to maintain high standards of patient care.
Essential Function
- Develops and implements departmental goals, strategies, and standards in alignment with clinical, legal, and regulatory expectations.
- Manages daily operations of the Cath Lab, including workflow, staffing, scheduling, and equipment readiness.
- Oversees employee performance, recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, and continuing education initiatives.
- Coordinates and leads quality improvement projects and performance metrics analysis.
- Prepares and monitors departmental budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility and efficient resource utilization.
- Directs and evaluates inventory control, purchasing, and vendor relationships.
- Collaborates with cardiologists and clinical teams to ensure continuity of care and procedural excellence.
- Ensures compliance with accreditation standards, policies, and hospital protocols.
- Provides training and mentorship to staff fosters a culture of professional growth.
- Participates in procedures when needed as a scrub tech or assisting RN.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectation

QualificationsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing or related field (Required) And
- Master's Degree (Preferred)
Licenses/Certification
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the state of practice Upon Hire (Required) And
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire (Required) And
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (Required)
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in cardiac cath lab or related cardiovascular field (Required) And
- Prior Experience in a leadership role in a clinical setting (Preferred)
