About the RoleWe are seeking a Director to own AIR, our asynchronous instant rips product. AIR gives collectors the thrill of the rip on their own time, with transparent economics and cards they actually want to own.
This is a true GM role. You will be accountable for the strategy, the product roadmap, and a significant revenue number. You will own the full P&L levers: acquisition, activation, retention, pack economics, and monetization.
The core of the job is building moments. Pack drops, themed releases, tentpole events, and live ops calendars that give collectors a reason to come back and a reason to spend. You will run AIR like a best-in-class consumer live service, with deep cohort analysis, disciplined performance marketing, and a relentless cadence of content and events.
You will drive cross-functional teams across product, inventory, design, engineering, marketing, and analytics, and work closely with our Live Instant Rips, Live Breaking, Marketplace, and Topps teams. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role in a business that is early, fast-moving, and still being defined.
Responsibilities- Own AIR strategy and P&L, setting and delivering against ambitious revenue, retention, and margin targets.
- Define and execute the product roadmap in partnership with Product, Design, and Engineering, balancing speed to market with long-term platform health.
- Build and run a live ops engine: pack launches, limited drops, seasonal and sport-calendar events, collaborations, and tentpole moments, with a clear calendar and a measurable playbook.
- Own user cohorting and lifecycle strategy, from first rip to VIP, using data to understand what drives repeat purchase, card retention, and lifetime value.
- Lead performance marketing and growth for AIR, owning channel mix, creative testing, CAC and payback targets, and the link between acquisition and downstream retention.
- Own pack design and economics in partnership with Inventory and Finance, managing EV, buyback rates, sourcing, and margin so that the collector experience and the business model reinforce each other.
- Run a rigorous experimentation program across pricing, pack mechanics, merchandising, onboarding, and CRM.
- Partner with Legal, Policy, and Compliance to ensure AIR is built on transparent mechanics and a collector-first foundation, and operates responsibly in an evolving regulatory landscape.
- Work with Partnerships, Marketing, and Content to bring licensors, athletes, breakers, and creators into AIR moments.
- Coordinate with the Instant Rips Live team to ensure the two products serve distinct collector needs and strengthen each other.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team, setting clear expectations and a culture of ownership and speed.
- Report on performance to senior leadership with clear, number-led insight into what is working, what is not, and what happens next.
Qualifications- 8+ years of experience in consumer product, growth, or general management, including 3+ years leading teams and owning a P&L or large revenue line.
- Proven track record in a live service consumer business such as free-to-play gaming, mobile games, sports betting, fantasy sports, or a similar engagement-led product.
- Deep experience with live ops: planning and running events, drops, seasons, and content calendars that drive spikes in engagement and revenue.
- Strong command of user cohorting, lifecycle marketing, and LTV modeling, with a track record of improving retention and monetization.
- Hands-on performance marketing experience, including paid acquisition, creative testing, attribution, and CAC to LTV management.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including forecasting, unit economics, and pricing.
- Analytical mindset, with fluency in SQL or BI tools such as BigQuery, Metabase, or Looker, and comfort working directly with data.
- Experience working in regulated or reputation-sensitive consumer categories, with sound judgment on responsible product design.
- Genuine passion for sports, trading cards, or collectibles. Experience in collecting communities, packs, or breaking is a strong plus.
- Exceptional communication, cross-functional leadership, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance strategy and hands-on execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field. MBA or equivalent preferred.
