The OpportunityRex is hiring a Director of Acquisitions & Transactions to quarterback every multifamily deal across its private equity real estate platform. With more than half a billion dollars in real estate owned and a new cycle underway, Rex is buying aggressively again. This leader sits at the center of the action and owns outcomes from the first broker call through closing, ownership, and exit. This role is anchored by three core mandates. First, run every transaction from start to finish. Drive sourcing and broker relationships with rigor and doggedness, negotiate LOIs and purchase contracts, command due diligence, and close cleanly. Second, orchestrate the full deal stack. Line up debt and equity before an LOI is signed, and control critical dates to protect deposits and buy time without breaking the deal. Own contracts alongside counsel, and drive refinances and dispositions. Ensure a disciplined handoff to asset and property management, then track execution through the business plan. Third, build the playbook and the bench. Architect a repeatable Rex deal system spanning diligence checklists, critical dates calendars, closing protocols, structured handoffs, and post-mortems. Develop rising deal professionals into operators capable of running full transactions themselves. The ideal candidate has 8-12 years in multifamily private equity real estate across acquisitions, transactions, or investment operations. They have personally quarterbacked 20+ closings, including deals that went sideways and were saved. They bring strong underwriting, debt market fluency, and established relationships with investment sales and debt brokers. They pair IQ with EQ. They are detail-obsessed on contracts and numbers, yet street smart, likable, and shrewd with counterparties whose interests rarely align with Rex's. They know enough about legal, debt, construction, and operations to challenge any advisor or counterparty with credibility. A legal or real estate paralegal background is a plus. This seat is built for a driver, not a process manager. Must be unquestionably loyal and deeply aligned with Rex's mission to catalyze human flourishing through disciplined stewardship of real estate. Not for mercenaries. Only for missionaries. Fully remote.
About the RoleRex is hiring a Director of Acquisitions & Transactions to translate a capitalized, actively buying platform into a steady cadence of well-sourced, well-structured, and cleanly closed multifamily transactions. With a new acquisition cycle underway, this seat owns the full deal lifecycle, from first broker call through closing, ownership, refinance, and exit.
This role owns outcomes across sourcing, structuring, contracts, diligence, closing, and handoff, ensuring speed, discipline, and conviction at every stage. You will operate as the connective tissue between brokers, sellers, lenders, equity partners, and counsel on one side, and Rex's acquisitions, capital formation, asset management, and property management teams on the other, keeping every party aligned and every critical date protected.
You will line up debt and equity before an LOI is signed, negotiate contracts with precision, and control the timeline so Rex protects its deposits and buys time when it needs it, without breaking the deal. When a transaction goes sideways, you will be the one who diagnoses the problem, rallies the parties, and finds a path to close. After closing, you will drive a structured handoff into asset and property management, track execution against the business plan, and lead refinances and dispositions when the timing is right.
You will also build the machine. That means architecting a repeatable Rex deal system, including diligence checklists, critical dates calendars, closing protocols, structured handoffs, and post-mortems, and developing rising deal professionals into operators who can run full transactions on their own.
This is a hands-on, high-impact seat for a driver, not a process manager, advisor, or banker. It calls for someone who pairs IQ with EQ: detail-obsessed on contracts and numbers, street smart with counterparties, and credible enough on legal, debt, construction, and operations to challenge anyone in the room. Must be missionary to the bone.
