Description

Reporting to the Executive Administrator for Medical Education and the Executive Dean for Medical Education and Student Affairs, the Director for Accreditation will lead accreditation efforts across multiple programs in the School of Medicine (SOM). The Director will support the SOM educational programs by providing school and program leadership with information, analysis, data, reports, special studies, and information related to accreditation efforts, assisting with planning, assessment and evaluation process for programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains awareness and knowledge of accreditation requirements and engages with various stakeholders related to Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), Genetic Counseling Education (GCE), Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiological Technology (JRCERT), and Society of Simulation in Healthcare (SSH).
  • There will also be some engagement with the Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) but the aforementioned will be the priority.
  • Serves as the SOM's liaison to the Office of the Provost regarding institutional-level (SACSCOC) accreditation and assessment reporting.
  • Coordinates the SOM's submissions to the University Academic Review Committee for new program proposals, cooperative academic arrangements, curriculum modifications, and other substantive changes.
  • Oversees SOM education accreditation coordination and collaborates with specific programs in accreditation preparation including documents and materials, site visits, and accreditation requirements for professional degrees and helps embody best accreditation practices across the SOM.
  • In collaboration with the Assessment, Program Evaluation, and CQI team, analyzes and develops comprehensive reports, anticipating report format, design, and visuals.
  • Ensures each program has appropriate CQI processes and frameworks to meet accreditation requirements.
  • In collaboration with the Assessment, Program Evaluation, and CQI team, prepares, develops, publishes internal and external reports and surveys.
  • Creates and maintains accreditation dashboards to inform SOM leaders on accreditation timelines, standards, and compliance within standards and coordinates with program accreditation committees to gather, organize, and present data.
  • Supports SOM education programs with providing information, statistics, and reports to external accrediting agencies, by maintaining various databases and obtaining data from other offices and/or assisting them in preparing reports to ensure consistent and reliable information to requesting agency.
  • Provides direction and assistance on academic assessment and review activities with faculty and staff in all educational programs.
  • Ensures quality assurance compliance and continuous improvement principles and practices of SOM policies, accreditation standards, and federal/state regulatory requirements.
  • Provides analytic and support expertise in research methods, design, and data presentation to the education community for improvement of academic and administrative processes and programs.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of experience working in higher education accreditation and/or applied data analysis and reporting, program assessment and administrative experience in data collection, analysis and presentation.
  • Master's degree in higher education preferred.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs. Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
