Job Description Summary

Le/la titulaire du poste est responsable des activités liées à la construction, à l’édification et à la mise en service sur le site du client, depuis la mobilisation du chantier jusqu’à l’exécution des travaux de génie civil, de montage et de mise en service. Il assume également les activités de gestion associées à ce périmètre de responsabilités.
Le/la titulaire est responsable de la planification et de l’exécution des opérations de son secteur ou se consacre à l’exécution d’activités professionnelles spécialisées au sein d’une discipline technique. Exerce ses fonctions avec un niveau d’autonomie, tout en respectant les politiques, procédures et lignes directrices établies, et sous réserve de l’évaluation des résultats obtenus.
Le poste permet l’adaptation et l’amélioration des procédures et des pratiques de travail, dans la mesure où les résultats finaux respectent les normes d’acceptabilité en vigueur, notamment en matière de qualité, de volume de travail et de respect des échéanciers.

Responsible for activities related to the construction, building and commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization, through civil, erection and commissioning work, as well as management activities related to this scope. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

  • Responsable de l’ENSEMBLE des activités du site, agissant sous la direction et au nom du responsable global du projet.

  • Dirige l’équipe sur site et gère l’exécution du périmètre des travaux du projet. Peut également être responsable de la gestion de plusieurs sites pour le projet.

  • Veille au respect des échéanciers, de la qualité et des coûts conformément aux obligations contractuelles, aux politiques de l’entreprise et aux règlements locaux.

  • Comprend la gestion directe du personnel, incluant la dotation et le développement de la performance.

  • Connaissance approfondie d’une discipline technique et capacités d’analyse et une expérience technique pour mettre en œuvre les politiques et stratégies.

  • Possède une connaissance des meilleures pratiques et de l’intégration de son domaine avec les autres; est au fait de la concurrence et des facteurs qui les différencient sur le marché.

  • Capacité de proposer différentes solutions en dehors des paramètres établis afin de répondre à des processus de fabrication plus complexes comportant une diversité technique et/ou des cycles de production interdépendants. S’appuie sur son expérience technique et son raisonnement analytique. Utilise plusieurs sources internes et un nombre limité de sources externes, au-delà de sa propre équipe, pour prendre des décisions.

  • Agit comme ressource pour les collègues ayant moins d’expérience.

  • Peut diriger de petits projets comportant de faibles risques et des besoins limités en ressources.

  • Explique l’information et développe les compétences afin d’amener les membres de l’équipe à un consensus sur des sujets relevant de son domaine d’expertise.

  • Communique les attentes en matière de performance et peut être appelé à gérer des situations délicates.

Qualifications et exigences requises

  • Baccalauréat en génie électrique d’une université ou d’un collège accrédité (ou diplôme d’études secondaires / GED avec au moins 10 ans d’expérience comme monteur de lignes ou électricien).

  • Le/La candidat(e) doit être légalement autorisé(e) à travailler au Canada sans nécessiter de parrainage actuel ou futur de l’employeur.

  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais (écrit et parlé).

Caractéristiques souhaitées

  • Expérience terrain en haute tension

  • Capacité à analyser et à résoudre des problèmes.

  • Capacité à documenter, planifier, promouvoir et exécuter des programmes.

  • Compétences en gestion de projets.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervisory role (i.e. site manager) is responsible for ENTIRE scope of site activities, acting under the direction and on behalf of the overall project leader.

  • Leads site team and manages execution of the project scope of work. Could also be managing multiple sites for the project.

  • Ensures schedule, quality and cost are in compliance with contractual obligations, company policy and local regulations.

  • Includes direct people management responsibility including staffing and performance development.

  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy.

  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.

  • Technical experience and analytical thinking.

  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

  • May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.

  • Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.

  • Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Electrical Engineering Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience line man / Electrician.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada without the need for current or future employer sponsorship. 

  • Fluent French & English (Written & spoken)

Desired Characteristics

  • High voltage field experience

  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

  • Project management skills.
