Full Job Description
The Dir, Strategic Communications leads the development and execution of PDS Health's corporate communications and public relations strategy. Reporting to the Chief Enterprise Strategy Officer, this role protects and elevates PDS Health's brand reputation with external audiences, positions company leadership as the trusted voice in the dental and greatest healthcare industry and professions, the leader in operationalizing the Mouth-Body Connection® and integrated care, and ensures communications planning supports enterprise growth priorities, including strategic partnerships, market expansion, and other strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute an integrated corporate communications and public relations strategy that supports enterprise growth objectives and protects and strengthens the PDS Health brand.
  • Serve as the organization's primary communications strategist for media relations; build and maintain relationships with professional/clinical, business, academic and consumer/patient press covering oral and integrated health.
  • Draft and oversee executive communications - including speeches, talking points, op-eds, and thought leadership content - for the CEO, Chief Enterprise Strategy Officer, and other senior leaders.
  • Curate a library of CEO and executive presentations as well as studies related to the Mouth-Body Connection®.
  • Lead reputation and issues management, partnering with Legal, People Services, and Compliance on sensitive, regulatory, or crisis communications.
  • Develop messaging frameworks and narratives that support strategic initiatives led by the Enterprise Strategy function, including partnership announcements and market expansion.
  • Own corporate brand voice and messaging consistency across press releases, the corporate website, social channels, and other external-facing materials.
  • Manage relationships with PR agencies, media monitoring vendors, and communications consultants, including budget oversight.
  • Partner with Marketing, Creative, and internal communications teams to ensure alignment of messaging across all channels and audiences.
  • Establish and report on communications KPIs to measure the effectiveness of public relations and brand-reputation efforts.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a small but impactful, high-performing strategic communications team.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies and standards, as well as state, federal and other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, or strategic communications, including experience operating at the director level or above.
  • Proven track record managing media relations and crisis communications for a large, multi-location organization.
  • Demonstrated experience advising C-suite executives on communications strategy, positioning, and messaging.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate business strategy into clear, compelling narratives for varied audiences.
  • Proficiency with the latest technological enablements, including media monitoring and communications analytics tools.

Preferred
  • Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS).
  • Experience in healthcare, dental, multi-site services, or another highly regulated industry preferred. Alternative experience could include mission-driven organizations with a passion to serve and/or transform.
  • Experience supporting communications for rapid corporate growth or organizational change.
