Director Emergency Services

Job Summary:

*Oversees the daily operations of the Emergency Department

*Responsible for planning and administering activities of a unit or floor and is responsible for the recommendation, development, and implementation of policies and procedures in these areas.

*Responsible for keeping the CNO informed of both progress and potential problems

*Responsible for the direction and evaluation of patient care delivery.

*Maintains operational aspects of the patient care department/departments in collaboration with other service areas.

Qualifications:

* Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

* BSN/MSN preferred

* Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah

* BLS, ACLS, PALS & TNCC certifications required within 90 days of hire

* Two to five years experience in an Emergency Department setting

* Management experience

* Demonstrated leadership abilities; able to work under stressful situations.

* Possesses good oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated interpersonal relationships in a manner which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolutions, and facilitates staff development.

* Skill and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical competence in caring for the specific age and type of patient population served.

* Observe professional ethics in maintaining confidential information acquired regarding person, financial, medical or employment of patients, families, and employees of MWMC.

Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and MWMC.

Must report hazards and initiate appropriate action.

Must participate in safety instructional programs.
