Responsibilities

SummitRidge Hospital -is a place for Healing and Hope! Our acute care psychiatric hospital is in Lawrenceville (about 25 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta). We provide psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment to adolescents, adults, and seniors, in addition to partial hospitalization and other outpatient programs (includes a location in Athens).

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Assessment to oversee the assessment and referral delivery system for our behavioral health facility. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the timely and courteous response to all intake and crisis line calls and for coordinating the delivery of psychiatric and chemical dependency assessments. The Director of Assessment will maintain strong professional and community relationships to support referral development, oversee intake department operations, and ensure departmental standards are met. This position is also responsible for securing 24-hour coverage and overseeing both on-site and off-site assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the assessment and referral delivery system for the facility
  • Ensure all intake and/or crisis line calls are answered promptly, professionally, and courteously
  • Coordinate the provision of psychiatric and chemical dependency assessments
  • Maintain positive relationships with professional and community contacts to promote referral development
  • Direct and coordinate intake department activities while maintaining departmental standards
  • Ensure 24-hour coverage for assessment and intake services
  • Oversee all on-site and off-site assessments
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative leadership to support service excellence
  • Monitor workflow, staffing, and quality metrics within the assessment department
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance access to care and patient experience

Minimum Qualifications:

- BS, BA, and/or RN with a minimum of two years experience in mental health including crisis intervention with psychiatric and chemical dependency clients; Masters preferred.

- Strong clinical skills to provide accurate and thorough assessments.

- Strong organizational skills to ensure accurate and consistent management of information.

- Reliable self-starter with strong work ethic and high energy level.
