ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will apply forensically sound methodologies to acquire, examine, and analyze digital evidence across a broad range of devices and media types, directly supporting DoD, IC, and law enforcement customers.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct forensic acquisition and examination of computers, hard drives, mobile devices, storage media, and other electronic devices containing potential evidentiary material.
- Perform digital forensics and electronic discovery services including evidence preservation, data recovery, tape recovery, email extraction, and database examination.
- Identify and document network intrusion evidence using forensically sound procedures; attribute activity to perpetrators where possible.
- Apply forensic tools and techniques to crack file and system passwords, detect steganography, and recover deleted, fragmented, or corrupted data from digital media.
- Investigate computer fraud and electronic crimes in support of federal and military legal proceedings.
- Maintain proper evidence custody and control; document procedures and findings to courtroom presentation standards.
- Produce comprehensive written forensic reports suitable for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide expert witness testimony in federal or military court proceedings as required.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Experience & Education
- Bachelor's degree with 8 years experience, masters degree with 6 years experience, PhD with 3 years experience. A degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering or related field is highly desired. However, an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree.
Technical Skills
- Demonstrated experience in digital forensics (exploitation and examination).
- Proficiency with industry-standard forensic tools:EnCase, FTK, X-Ways Forensics, Axiom, Cellebrite, GrayKey
- Hands-on experience with mobile device data extraction and analysis (iOS and Android).
- Experience with file system forensics, forensic media imaging, and large dataset analysis.
- Proficiency in timeline analysis, email analysis, and signature/hash analysis.
- Strong technical report writing and verbal communication skills.
Clearance & Compliance
- ActiveTop Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification compliance required at time of start.
Desired Qualifications:
- Industry certifications:CFCE, EnCE, ACE, GCFE, CHFI, PenTest+, DoD-DFE.
- PriorIntelligence Community (IC)experience.
- Experience with forensic tool and script development.
- Programming proficiency (any language).
Target Salary Range$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individuals experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
