Position Overview

Kiewit is actively looking for a skilled and dynamic Digital Project Execution Manager (DEM) Lead to join the Digital Project Execution (DPE) team. This pivotal dual-role position demands both strategic oversight of project information systems and hands-on involvement in project delivery activities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving the effective implementation and continuous enhancement of digital processes tailored to meet the complex requirements of EPCC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning) projects.

This role blends technical proficiency with strategic vision and interpersonal communication, requiring you to lead cross-functional collaboration and ensure the integrity and usability of project data. From facilitating stakeholder engagements to steering data governance initiatives, this position is fundamental in supporting efficient project execution and digital innovation.

Typical daily activities include but are not limited to:
  • Leading collaborative workshops and meetings to document business needs and refine digital processes.
  • Addressing metadata discrepancies and ensuring alignment with master data standards.
  • Coordinating data verification and reporting activities alongside digital teams.
  • Providing training and support for analytical and reporting tools.
  • Drafting clear documentation, including meeting notes and process improvement recommendations.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategic Development
  • Establish and promote standardized information management practices aligned with organizational goals across multiple projects.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams across technology, engineering, and construction disciplines to harmonize digital execution strategies with practical project information needs.
  • Cultivate a high-performing, knowledge-sharing team environment through coaching, mentorship, and continuous skill development.

Hands-On Digital Project Execution
  • Work closely with project leaders and stakeholders to craft and implement tailored digital delivery and data management plans.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary workshops to finalize project scope, data schema, lifecycle information, and digital handover protocols.
  • Conduct detailed data analyses and integrity checks utilizing advanced SQL queries, ensuring metadata robustness across key systems such as Common Data Environments and staging platforms.
  • Serve as a liaison for engineering, completion, and materials teams to maintain consistency in digital data flows.

Governance and Data Quality Assurance
  • Design, enforce, and continuously refine governance frameworks governing metadata validation, document categorization, and attribute completeness.
  • Monitor data maturity metrics and produce risk assessments to align with project milestones and customer expectations.
  • Maintain comprehensive and updated documentation such as data dictionaries and master tag registries.

Information Management Strategy
  • Collaborate across teams to define project-specific information requirements, securing compatibility with industry standards including CFIHOS and ISO 15926.
  • Drive alignment with client-specific digital objectives, ensuring all deliverables meet or exceed expectations.

Collaborative Workshops and Coordination
  • Plan, lead, and document outcomes of workshops designed to define data scopes, lifecycle requirements, and digital handover criteria.
  • Facilitate resolutions for data modeling and taxonomy challenges through regular engagement with both internal stakeholders and external partners.

Support, Enablement, and Training
  • Provide ongoing assistance to project teams in adoption and effective use of digital tools, data workflows, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Develop educational resources such as data management guides, training modules, and process illustrations to enhance digital proficiency within teams.

Reporting and Oversight
  • Maintain vigilant tracking of digital information deliverables, highlighting risks and progress to project leadership.
  • Coordinate comprehensive status reporting on digital readiness and handover preparations.
  • Utilize SQL expertise to query and validate data within project databases, ensuring high-quality information stewardship.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Management, Construction Management, or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 to 12 years of professional experience in large-scale energy, industrial, or infrastructure project environments.
  • At least 3 years of dedicated experience in digital delivery roles, data management, or integrated project information coordination.
  • Preferred: Minimum 2 years in leadership or supervisory roles managing technical or project teams.
  • Proven expertise in solution coordination, digital project delivery frameworks, and comprehensive digital integration within EPCC lifecycle contexts.
  • Strong understanding of EPC and fabrication project workflows and information management requirements acquired via direct exposure.
  • Demonstrated capability in troubleshooting complex data issues and collaborating across diverse teams to develop effective solutions.
  • Proficiency using secondary digital tools relevant to data and project execution, including project execution systems and EPCC operational software.
  • Excellent written communication skills complemented by confident and clear oral presentation abilities.
  • Effective time management, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize multiple concurrent demands.
  • Leadership skills to effectively coach and guide teams while managing distributed priorities across projects.
  • Competence in developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation, guidelines, and procedural materials tailored to project needs.
  • Experience in the implementation of data governance protocols such as validation rules, document lifecycle alignment, and digital handover standards.
  • Strong command of SQL for data retrieval, filtering, joining datasets, and generating reports essential for validation and troubleshooting.
  • Skillful in metadata analysis, modeling, and the mapping of data relationships, specifically within enterprise data systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Power BI, and other enterprise-level data and reporting platforms.
  • Proven ability to design and facilitate multi-disciplinary workshops focused on aligning data and process requirements.
  • Exceptional skills in requirement gathering through effective questioning and organized documentation of stakeholder inputs.
  • Clear communication and interpersonal skills, bridging technical and non-technical audiences with empathy and professionalism.
  • Detail-oriented approach ensuring accuracy in documentation, tracking, and validation of information and deliverables.
