Diagnostic Vascular Technologist - Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited North American program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography).
• 1 year of recent, related experience in a clinical setting.
• Current certification with Sonography Canada or ARDMS for relevant practice area.
• Eligible for membership with Sonography Canada and/or ARDMS.
• Strong foundation in vascular system procedures and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for testing by reviewing case histories and explaining procedures.
• Perform non-invasive vascular diagnostic tests using Doppler and plethysmography equipment.
• Assist vascular surgeons during diagnostic procedures when required.
• Evaluate accuracy of diagnoses and make recommendations for technique improvements.
• Respond to information requests from physician offices by collaborating with the vascular team.
• Conduct quality control on equipment, identifying issues and facilitating repairs.
• Enter and maintain patient data in the computerized system.
