About the TeamThe Anduril Battlespace Awareness Radar team develops state-of-the-art radar systems, deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies. The Radar team is responsible for all aspects of radar system development, from the ideation stage through initial production. In this role, you will work closely with an interdisciplinary technical team to define test strategies, build automated validation infrastructure, perform testing against representative hardware, and mature prototypes into reliable products.
About the JobAnduril is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to develop and maintain the test and release infrastructure for our radar software portfolio. This is a hands-on engineering role combining testing against real radar hardware with automated test development, hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop environments, CI/CD, release assurance, and reproducible radar test-data workflows.
You will work directly with software and firmware engineers across multiple radar products to reduce manual validation, detect regressions earlier, shorten feedback cycles, and make releases repeatable, traceable, and auditable.
What You'll Do- Develop and execute manual and automated test plans, test cases, and test scripts for radar software and firmware, including functional, regression, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Identify, document, and track software and firmware defects; collaborate with developers to reproduce issues, debug root causes, and verify fixes
- Support the design and build-out of software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure, including test rigs, emulators, and harnesses that validate radar software against representative hardware and simulated environments
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that run automated test suites and provide fast, actionable feedback across the radar product portfolio
- Develop tooling for reliable collection, cataloging, retention, retrieval, and replay of radar test data so results are reproducible across programs and field events
- Support repeatable deployment of firmware and software updates to lab hardware, test benches, and fielded units
- Build release-assurance workflows that collect test evidence, generate release notes and software bills of materials, version release artifacts, and maintain traceability between source code, builds, test results, and deployed software
- Partner with software, firmware, systems, and configuration-management teams to define release criteria and verify that software meets quality standards before deployment
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies, coding standards, and release practices as the radar software portfolio scales
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of experience in software quality assurance, software test engineering, or software development infrastructure
- Experience developing automated tests at the unit, integration, or system level
- Proficiency in Python for test automation and scripting
- Working proficiency in C++ sufficient to understand, instrument, and debug production software
- Experience with Git and CI/CD tooling
- Experience with bug-tracking systems such as Jira
- Experience testing and debugging software in Linux environments
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications- Experience building or operating hardware-in-the-loop or software-in-the-loop test infrastructure
- Experience collecting, managing, and replaying large or high-volume test datasets
- Experience with release automation, artifact management, software bill of materials generation, or software configuration management
- Experience with firmware or embedded-software deployment and update pipelines
- Familiarity with Nix or NixOS for reproducible build and test environments
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Experience writing or analyzing code with LLMs such as Claude Code or Codex
