Development Manager / Senior Development Manager, Solar & Storage
New York or DC (NYC preferred) | $130,000+

I'm working on a search for a Development Manager or Senior Development Manager to lead solar and storage development across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. This is a role for someone who wants to own projects, not just support them. You would take sites from early-stage development through to construction readiness and financial close, working across site acquisition, real estate and title, interconnection, engineering, environmental, offtake and policy.

What the role involves:
  • Leading development activities across internal and external teams, from site acquisition through to financing
  • Generating leads and opportunities through your own account profiling, business development calls and networking
  • Preparing and submitting land use permitting applications, managing site layouts, and presenting at permitting meetings
  • Building relationships with governments and utilities, and using that market intelligence to shape strategy
  • Supporting the Development Director on origination and new market entry
  • Managing project data on budget, schedule and deliverables
  • Regular travel to project sites and stakeholder meetings

What they are looking for:
  • 3+ years in energy infrastructure development, community solar preferred
  • A four-year bachelor's degree in a relevant field. A relevant master's is a plus
  • Strong project management, organisation and analytical problem-solving
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • A self-starter who is results-driven and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead and mentor
