Gas Pipeline Designer in our

.Requirements
EXPERIENCE + KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITY (KSA) Proficient // General understanding and practical experience; capable of working independently with growing efficiency. 7+ years of design experience.
- Knowledge of engineering design principles, applicable codes and standards, and established design practices used in the planning and development of projects.
- Skills in using engineering design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer (2D/3D modeling), ArcGIS, Microsoft Office, etc.) to develop, modify, and coordinate engineering designs, drawings, and technical deliverables.
- Ability to analyze data, apply design criteria, and use standard office and engineering software to produce accurate design documentation and support project completion.
RESPONSIBILITIES1.
Design + Analysis // - Lead design efforts for assigned project components with limited supervision, supporting Project Managers and Project Engineers.
- Utilize engineering and drafting software to develop and refine complex plan, profile, cross-section, and utility drawings in accordance with project requirements.
- Interpret survey data, utility records, specifications, and engineering plans to independently develop and manage design base files.
- Translate design concepts, sketches, and engineering direction into fully coordinated and constructable plan sets.
- Incorporate and manage redlines and review comments while identifying trends and improving design efficiency.
- Perform design calculations, including grading, utility design, drainage elements, and quantity takeoffs with minimal oversight.
- Identify, evaluate, and assist in resolving design conflicts, discrepancies, and constructability issues.
- Coordinate with field data collection efforts and integrate findings into design development if applicable.

Compliance + Quality // - Apply Company QA/QC processes and procedures in the preparation of design deliverables.
- Identify potential errors or inconsistencies and correct them proactively.
- Maintain compliance with company standards and safety requirements.

Communication + Collaboration // - Collaborate with Project Engineers, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design efforts, communicate project status and risks.
- Resolve cross-discipline conflicts and provide guidance to Design team on tasks and deliverables.

Training, Learning + Advancement // - Mentor and provide technical direction to other design personnel in the preparation of deliverables and use of design tools.
- Back check and review drafting work to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.

Client + Internal Satisfaction // - Apply client standards, guidelines, specifications, and industry best practices consistently across all deliverables.
- Support project success and client satisfaction through responsiveness, accuracy, and professional judgment.

Technical //- Lead design efforts across multiple disciplines and create innovative solutions to complex design problems.
- Independently prepare and review various design deliverables while managing simultaneous projects.
- Work with rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from clients or Project Managers for use in developing construction drawings.
- Generate plan and profile drawings, including cross-sections and underground utilities, from reference files, survey files, and/or record drawings.
- Create baselines, cross sections, and extract profiles from DTM, TIN, and/or contours.
- Meet project completion dates and budgets set by the Project Lead.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, staff, supervisors, and principals.
- Mentor and provide direction to other design and CAD personnel in the use of tools and preparation of design deliverables.
- Perform thorough quality control on construction drawings, exhibits, and related documents.
- Complete work in compliance with Company, Client, and Industry standards.

PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS + ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORSMost work is performed in a professional office environment. Some trips to client offices and outdoor environments for observations will be required.
- Seated and Standing Position. Extended periods of sitting and standing in an upright position at a workstation.
- Mobility. Movement within the office and job sites, including navigating between floors, workstations, and outdoor environments with potential for uneven surfaces.
- Neck Movement. Forward flexion, extension, or lateral rotation of the head and neck while using multiple computer screens.
- Repetitive Motion. Repetitive finger movements for operating a computer mouse and typing on a keyboard.
- Arm Movement. Extending hands and arms in various directions, such as overhead, below the waist, forward, or laterally.
- Object Handling. Raising or lowering objects from one level to another and transporting objects by holding them in the hands, arms, or over the shoulder.
- Cognitive Requirements. Selective attention, oral comprehension, oral expression, speech recognition, speech clarity, written comprehension, written expression, problem sensitivity, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, number facility, information ordering, category flexibility, flexibility of closure, fluency of ideas, and originality.
- Office Conditions. Includes extensive use of electronic devices such as computers, printers, copiers, scanners, plotters, and telephones. Additionally, tasks may involve the use of cutting tools and equipment like rotary paper cutters and plotting devices.
- Outdoor Conditions. Includes walking and climbing on uneven surfaces, confined spaces, and exposure to extreme weather conditions (heat and freezing temperatures). Potential exposure to high noise levels and various allergens, including poison ivy, sumac, dust, pollen, and cedar. Potential exposure to wildlife hazards such as animals, insects, and plants.
- Safety and Equipment Use. Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, along with use of hand and power tools.
- Driving and Vehicle Use. May involve driving large pick-up trucks with attached trailers, potentially operating watercraft, and for extended periods of time.
EXPECTED WORK HOURS- This is a full-time position, generally 40 hours per week, however, hours may fluctuate depending on department needs including the use of overtime.
- CobbFendley's standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM CST. Generally, employees receive a 1-hour unpaid lunch break free of duty. Please note, operating hours and lunch hours may differ based on project workload, primarily for field staff.
WORK LOCATION FLEXIBILTY - This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule once the training period is complete as established by the department.
